November 19th isn’t that far away… 10 days… you’d think there’d be a bit more… I dunno, hyping before the release. Like “You motherfuckers ready to get stupid!?” or “The Mod went gold JUST NOW GUYS.” or “You best tighten that sphincter boy” or a launch trailer? Not to hold the developers to my presumptions on what per-release hype usually is but there’s a layer of treated anticipation, to be done in 10 days.

Still though, can’t assume anything. I’d like to hope I’m just talking my ass off for no reason.

I don’t think they will release on HL’s birthday, mainly because L4D2 will only have been out for 2 days, and a lot of people will be playing that. I think they might announce the actual release date on HL’s birthday.

But I’ve been wrong before…

Well that -is- something now isn’t it. Damn, wish I would’ve connected the dots on that one- not for left 4 dead 2 but for announcing the release date on half-life’s anniversary. Well crud- I still don’t assume anything but that is… extremely reasonable.

What’s the last mod that just died off with the release of a major game though? Didn’t Team Fortress Forever come out around Team Fortress 2’s release?

Also, I didn’t think about the L4D2 release either, mostly because I’m completely uninterested in it. Not that I won’t buy it, I’ll just do it when it goes on a Steam sale for $5.00, like all of Valves games do at some point. :stuck_out_tongue:

I kinda think what’ll happen is they’ll work till they’re finished, check they’re finished, do a bug check then release it.
Regardless of what day it is, and regardless of whether they’ve mentioned it to us or not.
