Mod idea - looking for feedback

Thanks for the offer Pyro, but I’m really looking for more experienced level designers and I’ve already gotten a good portion of the plot/writing down. If there’s any other way you can help out, though, that would be necessary for the mod, please shoot me a PM.

That being said, I am looking for help on this. The only filled position as of right now is music producer, so I’m accepting applications for all other necessary positions: concept artist, texture artist, modeler, animator, coder/programmer, level designer (I’ll even take voice acting applications, but it’s still a bit early for that). The only real requirement is that you have finished work that you can show me. After which I’ll decide on whether or not it will fit/work for this game. If asking for help is frowned upon, please remove this part of my post. I was hesitant to ask, but I spoke with a member of the BM team and he said he didn’t think there would be a problem with it–though, he did say that he doesn’t really have anything to do with forum moderation.

Also, I added a mini-banner to the OP.

I decided to put this on hiatus while I was finishing up my semester. Plus, I figured I should wait a bit to see what was new in Portal 2 and what new information it would have about Aperture. Now, with both of those past, I’ve decided to re-start my work on the project. I’ve begun work on the main church of the monastery as well as some very early brush work for the monastery itself and have been reworking the plot a bit to account for some of the new revelations in Portal 2.

I’ll probably be posting a help wanted thread in the appropriate forum in the next few days, as I get a better feel of what exactly I’m looking for at the moment. Obviously more experienced mappers and modelers, for starters.

I knew this was going south when I saw you going into weapons and enemies lists, which most of us know are obvious. Story is central (and should be developed first) in a mod like this. I do like your setting though.

Good luck anyway.

Most of the story has already been worked out (the details aren’t yet set in stone, though). So far I’m at about 6 pages in a single-spaced word document and probably another 4 pages worth in details that are still in my head. So far I’m looking at about 4-5 chapters for the mod, with plenty of ideas/room left for another add-on if need be. The enemies and weapons are picked to fit in with the storyline. I just don’t want to go into detail about the story publicly, and I felt I could talk about those without revealing the plot. My initial goal is to release the first chapter on its own when it is complete, and do the same with the second chapter. I’m undecided as to how the subsequent chapters would be released, but I’ll be more worried about that when I get there.

this sounds like a good mod that can work out very well if the best aspects of it can be used to it’s maximum.

of course a little aspect you may need to remember is that no buildings would be so pristine anymore. with the portal storms rocking most solid buildings (portal storms’ effect can be somewhat seen in ep2 where a storms breaks the bridge). so a lot of cracks and damages would probably be seen and gotten quick. but im fairly sure you thought of this

also, please don’t go over the top with the apperture parts. this can get to much realy fast. but thats up to you

i would gladly help but at the moment im busy on another project and working on my portfolio. i can model in 3ds max but i have not tried the bigger works things yet. and i dont have good microphone for voice acting so that isnt much help either

anyways, i wish you best of luck with your project
