Missing textures in OAR

With the lasest update, I’ve decided to play Black Mesa again from the start.

In the first map of On a Rail, I found these:

After crossing the bridge:

and finally at the very very end of the map:

Note: I am using OAR: Uncut, and the part where we find a security guard alive behind a box, armed with a shotgun… well that part is also full of pink places. I will check this chapter without the mod later.

The texture errors are because of On a Rail Uncut. It’s quite broken because of the new update, actually. I haven’t had a chance to look at it yet but I’ll have to deal with it at some point.

It’s sort of relevant, and I wasn’t sure where else to ask this or whether it deserved its own thread, but on that note - as of CU3, how can mappers/modders in general go about testing levels that modify stock BM maps?

I wanted to see if the AI updates in CU3 alleviated the issues I was having when experimenting with OaR myself, but BM doesn’t load the modified maps in place of the original ones in-game - instead of loading my custom c2a2b, it just loads the stock version of it (which is c2a2c in my mod).

I tried mucking about with folder structures and such in the addons folder, but the stock maps are still taking priority. Is there a way to get the game to load the modified maps without .VPK’ing them?

As I suspected. Hopefully you will have the time to fix it, since most of us consider these maps an integral part of Black Mesa.
Here are the free issues I met in OaR like this

  • The texture problem, mentioned above.
  • Most, enemies are stuck and doesn’t move, they only attack when I am in their line of sight.
  • The music also doesn’t play.

Also, I wonder if we can still implement the original HL music for the rocket launch, and if yes, how?

There is also an issue regarding two headcrabs spawn place in map c2a2a2. For some reason they get stuck in each other and are unable to attack the player, unless he kills one of them.

I’ve been re-playing through the game, starting right at On a Rail, with both the OaR Loop Mod (OaR Uncut Version), and OaR: Uncut installed. So far, I’ve gotten to C2A2_A2 with no texture issues, although I keep getting CTD’s when I try to leave the office area.

Also, I am also experiencing these two issues with the OaR: Uncut maps:

I have the same issues as you,besides the first one with Loop mod installed,also i have a purple texture instead of floor texture in rocket launch room even though I verified my game cache two times.

Mod or Steam version? Because I’ve also encountered missing textures in the loop+uncut mod, though not in the same places as you:

I haven’t figured out WHICH textures are missing (any suggestions for console commands?) I found out that I hadn’t downloaded Episode 1, and proceeded to do so, but the problem wasn’t fixed. Any ideas?

Also, the train despawned when I returned through a level transition, but that’s okay ^^’

As of now the mod is broken, and the issues with it will remain until Text’ updates it. Hope it will happen, won’t install the mod back before.
