I’ve been trying to get black mesa to work for days now. Took two days to get the install exe to work and install and now it won’t play because it says it’s missing gameinfo.txt, it’s also not showing up in my steam library.
I’ve made sure to install to the correct path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\BMS and steam was turned off when I installed. I’ve followed all instruction to a t and I’m really at the end of the rope with this frustration.
Do you have Source SDK Base 2007 installed in your computer? If you do, try verifying the SDK Base’s cache.
Yea I’ve got it and verified, reinstalled and still gave the error
Start up Source SDK Base 2007 and run the video stress test. I believe that might fix the problem. At least it did for me when I was trying to edit some of the BM map files in hammer.
