Meet the Medic - Team Fortress 2

Now I feel like the Orange Box was pointless. :frowning:

Watā€¦ itā€™s 5 years fucking old

Yeah, I bought TF2 a couple years ago for like $10 or $20, and Iā€™ve logged over 900 hours of gameplay so far. Iā€™d say I got my moneyā€™s worth out of it. Couldnā€™t care less if you can get it free now, just means more people might play. Personally I think most everyone who wanted to play it has bought it by now, but I guess there might be some who didnā€™t want to plunk down the cash for it. I know people are saying there will be more kids in there now but as long as I can mute people and disable chat when I need to, itā€™s just more easy targets.

More kids - more fun gangraping them and hear them crying in the mic - until you mute them.

Wow, that video was a whole lot better than I thought itā€™d be.

Yeah, I just realized that. Man, I wish I could see the funding statistics first hand at the Valve office. It would really be interesting to see.

He isnā€™t blind and wear eye patch just to look badass.

No, itā€™s just because heā€™s both scottish and black

Great video, Valve is just getting better and better at this.

I wouldnā€™t be surprised if Episode 3 is just a movie that closes the HL2 story arc and then acts as a transition into HL3.

Actually that would be massively retarded.

I didnā€™t think Iā€™d like Meet the Medic as i was never a big fan of the Medic as a character but wow that was by far the best one yet.

Portal was the whole Orange Box to me.

God, I feel like it was only yesterday that I stared at the steam screen unaware of what game on the Orange Box to play first.

Pretty Awesome, but I kinda preferred Meet the Spy.

That one is really tough to beat.

And as weird as it may sound, this video kinda puts the medic in a different light for me. Heā€™s always seemed kinda bland and unknown to me, but I think this adds a lot to his personality.

Brilliant!!!

Thatā€™s how I feel with all the class vids really.

It gave Sniper parents and a personal life outside of the game. It gave Heavy creepy affinity for his weapons. It gave Demoman (for me) that ā€œIā€™m too racially diverse so where the fuck do I belong?ā€ aspect that I really respect because of all the characters I relate to that the most. It didnā€™t really do anything for Scout because heā€™s basically all out there. Fuck, meet the spy was just as much the Scoutā€™s as it was Spyā€™s.

Who the fuck was your maths teacher?

lolā€™d?

DAMNIT I wrote a big review and forgot to press the Post Quick reply button
Now the damn thing is gone. SHIIIT.

By making TF2 F2P, theyā€™re not just making a good deal, but theyā€™re making it a platform itself.

When Gabe Newell talked at E3 last year about converting entertainment as a product to entertainment as a service, this is what he was talking about. With Mann CO, there are unlimited possibilities for gaming experiences, so its not a bland online game like CoD or CSS where you buy it, and play it.

They said they did theyā€™re 200th update on TF2 a few months back, so the game is always being edited, and experimented with. Unlike other game developers, they donā€™t wait until a Team Fortress 3 to fix all the problems that players didnā€™t like. Steam revolutionized this entire area of gaming for Valve.

On topic, I laughed for about half an hour at the Spyā€™s head in the fridge. ā€œKill me.ā€ ā€œLaterā€¦ā€

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valveā€™s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
