The original M16 could fire in full-auto. The current one is Safe-Semi-Burst.
Is there an M16A5 already? Because that statistic I hotlinked was about the A4.
I think we’re still with the A4, which I could’ve sworn was still burst-fire. Ah well, then.
But A4’s are not standard-issue to the US Armed Forces. They still issue the M16A2 which I know for a fact is Semi-Burst.
ITT: teenagers on the Internet who think they know everything about war and weaponry because they’ve played Call of Duty.
Hey ! i’m a moron on the internet who thinks he knows everything about firearms. But ! not because i played call of duty. I actually read books about guns y’know.
The m16a4 IS only semi and burst, they pretty much switch off, the a1 and a3 have full auto, and the a2 and a4 have only burst and semi, there is no m16a5, the m4 carbine has replaced the m16a3, and the m16a4 has replaced the m16a2.
Yes, but the A4 is so new that it hasn’t been produced in large enough numbers to be standard-issue. Most infantry-men still get their A2s, as well as others getting M4A1s, and SCARs.
