no.
Pre-judging just like you guys have done with L4D2. You guys going to sign another petition for this one too?
Give the game a chance. It hasn’t even been released yet.
Id give it a chance if it had a different name, this isn’t the max payne3 that anyone wanted. Just like red faction 3, its a damn fine game, but ITS NOT RED FACTION.
Yes, but L4D has become successful in it’s first iteration, and has been pretty much replicated in it’s second, apart from the normal new weapons, actions, kinda thing. And the look of the game is almost identical to the look of the first.
What’s happening here is that they’re trying to radically change a franchise that was hugely successful, to a large degree because of its buckets of style and the way it was presented. No doubt the writing will be good, but like I said, I don’t associate this bald, bloody tramp to the Max I see in the other 2 games.
From what I can see here, they’re completely remopving what many people loved from the series. Of course I can’t specifically judge what it will be like, but I can say I’m pretty bloody dubious. :meh:
.
yeah but he can take on
MAX PAIN without dying.
I think it’s sad that you all want a reiteration rather than progression. Seriously, where do you think the story could have gone from the aftermath of Max Payne 2?
Do you really think you’d love it so much if it was in New York for a 3rd time? Just as many people would be criticising Rockstar if they did, but personally I can’t fathom how the story could progress in New York after all that has happened previously.
None of you deny that it will be a great game, but it seems you’re all piling on the bandwagon against it based on superficial differences from the first 2 games.
I thought this was going to suck, because I didn’t even like #2 that much, and then I realized Rockstar is developing it. In which case, hands down win. I went from not giving a shit to being absolutely psyched in the space of 2 pages of posts, thanks ODB!
I imagine Rockstar is sick to death of NYC after doing GTA4. Although the upside would have been, they could just reuse that entire map.
To emphasize, look at the bloody Wolfenstein. RtCW was, like, 6 years ago, but Raven “miraculosly” found a way to retain the same feel in the upcoming game.
While THIS is just another rockstar creation for me. Not saying that R* makes crap games, not ever, but this is supposed to be fucking Max Payne.
stfu and gtfo
no u
once again you prove your lack of imagination , but then again , if you had any good ideeas , you would be working for like ,rockstar no? , we want what we love ,and we love what we want
Oh and BTW:
Nothing more to add except from one word : GENERIC
I could name a few where generic is intentional.
No.
The “film noir” thing was a cute gimmick, but it had nothing to do with the reason Max Payne was a good game.
yeah, right.
You’re the unimaginitive one. You want a rehash of what you’ve already had. This isn’t to do with anybody’s imagination, especially mine. As a fan of the series and of Rockstar games, it stupifies me why people are shunning the game already.
Do you mean the difference between a game being good or not is the appearence of the main character? Or of the environment it’s set in?
By the same standards, you’d want Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 3 to be set in Black Mesa aswell.
Ha, well played sir.
The noir aspect of the first two Max Paynes might not have been the be-all and end-all of their success, but it certainly helped to create a feel for the games that gave them some sort of distinction and set them out from the crowd slightly. As for the developer’s excuse that they wanted to update it and New York just didn’t provide the same potential - bullshit. It seems that someone had their eye on Sao Paolo for a while as a setting for a game and Max Payne 3 came along and they used it.
As I said before, I’ll certainly give it a chance. It’s hardly as though my opinion counts for something, but as long as the reviews are good I’ll probably play it. Noir doesn’t depend on darkness or night time - it’s simply a bleak outlook and presentation. You can just as easily set a noir game in the daylight and use soft colours, or simply set most of it indoors. There’s a wealth of indoor environments that they could have used for Max Payne 3 in New York.
Even more, the have a freaking nerve to yell it out loud.
Well true, but Max Payne utilized exactly “Big City Night” film-noir entourage.
Well, Sao Paolo is no slouch either, it has an effing huge downtown. But I can see nothing but sweaty chicana slums here.
And the voice actor missing - man are you serious…
I would rather wait another five years and played it on PS4, but done by Remedy after they finished Alan Wake.
