Very good point. I’m sure this will be fine or even brilliant as a game in its own right, but as a sequel to Max Payne 1 and 2 it looks terrible. I’ve heard that they’ve replaced James McCaffery as the voice actor which doesn’t exactly bode well. So… it’s not set in New York, it’s not at night, and he looks so very different. I’m sure it’s fine on its own, but not as a supposed ‘noir’ sequel. To be perfectly honest, the change in character appearance doesn’t bother me a whole lot, even when he’s meant to be the same character as the first one (see bottom).
They changed the appearance between the first and the second game and it was credible. But what gets me is that they seem to be taking a conscious and deliberate attempt to steer away from the first two games and it doesn’t look good. I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but I think I’ll read reviews first.
his look… c’mon , every man who lives his life killing and trying to survive is bound to grow a body fit for it , you would expect him to remain skinny and with that rich hair ?
the change of course it sucks , like the first one that said , it reeks of die hard-ness , but maybe they learn from mistakes…

God he’s let himself go why cant he be like the guy in condemned 2, he was a dirty drunk but he was still built 
since washing their blood away from the hair daily becomes miserabile
Im not surprised that people would react to the new Max Payne this way, what esle would you expect?
Im against franchished games because of the fact that the game wont be like the original when someone esle is making it. We fell in love with Max Payne cause of how the people at Remedy made it.
But give it a chance it does look like it has some potential. I also have to say that he looks like a Splinter Cell clone.
He look hotter then the first and second Max Payne.

oh well. It could be worse. it could look like gears of war (sorry still mad about UT3). although I do miss the detective look.

Doesn’t anyone else think that the Max Payne from the first two games would stick out like a sore thumb in Sao Paulo? He’s clearly going to be this battle-hardened broken man who’s lost everything and left his life behind. Perhaps he has a shaved head because he’s part of a street gang and that’s his way of surviving.
Noir isn’t about it being night time and generally just dark, it’s about the dark narrative, the gritty, bleak and enigmatic story and the way it’s handed to you like a plate of cold turkey with a kick in the balls.
But it would look cooler if it was also filled with sky scrapers, leather cloaks, night time, and Mark Walberg (lol jk.)
