Map fails to load

Hi all,

Up until now Black Mesa has been amazingly fun, great work guys

My problem is that, just normally playing through the game, I get to an area where the “Loading” box appears, and the game just locks up, nothing happens, have left it running for a few hours, doesn’t load the next map.

The map that fails to load via the normal in game method or via console is : bm_c2a2b.bsp

I’m thinking maybe my version of the map is somehow corrupt, on my HD it is 7.84 MB and it’s checksum is 57DED47EB6DDA330CD1719C336E79830

The checksum of the file I have here is different and 7.84 MB appears to be too low, as well (details below).

The checksum should be:

8be26e2d6680d8bcfa7f45a2f7445566

or

8BE26E2D6680D8BCFA7F45A2F7445566

The file size of “bm_c2a2b.bsp” should be:

Size: 42,4 MB (44.540.156 Bytes)

Size on Volume: 42,4 MB (44.544.000 Bytes)

I’ve uploaded a ‘working’ file to SpeedyShare, here:

Download File: bm_c2a2b.bsp - speedyshare.com (speedy.sh)

Download it by clicking the file’s name at the very top of the page (“bm_c2a2b.bsp”), then move or copy and paste it into this folder:

<Steam Installation Path>\SteamApps\sourcemods\BMS\maps\

Note: Don’t forget to click “Overwrite: Yes to all.”, when asked.

I hope this one’s working!

If you’re having trouble with any other map, be sure to post both it’s file size and checksum here.

EDIT (02:46 PM): I hope you don’t mind the file-size of that download (if zipped into a .zip file, the size is cut in half [approximately]).

If 42,4 MB is too much, I’ll zip and re-upload it, asap.

Thanks a lot, don’t know how only that map failed to extract properly, didn’t get any error messages during extraction, wierd. Anyway, I’m off to finish the game now  Thanks !

Weee’ - Have fun!
