i don’t feel bad for an idiot who let multiple cats die that way and didn’t learn his lesson the first time.
please, op, if you can’t take care of an animal and keep track of it, don’t have one. no cat deserves to die so horribly because an owner has no consideration for its safety.

Whether it is recommended or not, my cats ALWAYS want to go out multiple times a day. Even if it’s winter they’ll just sit in the garden under the roof for half an hour or so. We have a pretty large garden with a large open area where other gardens meet, this basically forms one huge playground for all cats in the area.

I’ve never heard of any stories of cats being killed by cars or a vet recommending to keep them inside (in my area) but I guess this is largely dependant on where you live. I kinda live in a quite small village.

sorry, let me just get my vet to sign up on an internet forum to try to convince stubborn people with no common sense that it’s entirely okay to put animals in extreme danger when it’s “in their nature!!11!1” even though it’s not, and even after more than one of that persons animals had died because of their incompetence.

please, don’t have any more cats. let an owner who cares about them have them.

that’s you, you’re not someone who’s had THREE CATS DIE because you failed to take proper care of them. you think that would be a big enough hint for him that hey, MAYBE he lives in an area that isn’t safe for cats to be outside!

i am being reasonable. he’s a complete idiot, and i feel bad for the cats, not him. he obviously didn’t care about them too much to let it happen to ALL of them.

I bet the next thing you are going to say is “Don’t leave you dogs outside either! My vet says they are stupid enough look up at the sun and blind themselves! Same with horses! they should be inside as well or the rain might hurt them!”

rain and sun = extremely common machine made from two tons of metal hitting a ten pound animal.

oh, ok. nice to know that’s what you think. most people who leave other animals outside don’t let them roam around the neighborhood freely, because that’s a stupid thing to do with ANY animal. there’s a difference between a backyard or a stable and going around the streets.

it is his fault his cats are dead. no point in sugar coating it or being nice, especially seeing as he’s probably going to do it again, regardless of what anyone tries to tell him.

i feel as much empathy for him as i’d feel for anyone else who allowed three animals to die.

I really want to come over to your house and kill your cats and say “Well to be fair you should learn not to let people break into your house and kill you most beloved things. What are you gonna do about it? Shoot me? Hahahah doubt it.”

then he’s going to lose more cats. i feel bad for the cats, of course. but eventually he’ll learn from what he puts himself through by losing them.

except for that would be YOUR fault, for murdering my cats. YOU chose to break into my house. YOU chose to kill the cats. just like he chose to let his cats outside in an area that was obviously proven to be unsafe, he chose to let them die.

Shit, who called PETA in here?

seeing as peta kills more animals than pretty much everything in the entire world combined, i’m pretty sure no one did.

but yeah, sorry if i come off as bitchy, but it is your fault your cats died, and you should have learned the first time. i couldn’t give less of a shit if you feel bad about it, feel bad all you want and gee it sure sucks that you feel bad but that doesn’t change the fact that animals died due to your irresponsibility, and that’s my main concern. not feelings.

Hurp.

So, it’s not the driver’s fault for not paying attention or breaking, it’s Shadi’s, but if someone kills a cat outside of a car it’s totally fine?

you can’t always stop the car fast enough to avoid the animal. of course, some of the blame would be on the driver. but that doesn’t mean it all is, especially seeing as it was LIKELY an accident that could have been easily avoided by the cat not being there in the first place.

and if i let my cat out and someone killed him, i’d sure as hell blame myself for letting him out. so again, blame is on both of them.

well then i hope he’s learned to either supervise his cats while they’re outside or to keep them indoors. all i want is for the cats to be properly taken care of and safe.

if it helps to keep any future cats he may have safe, so be it.

Shadi, ignore Fancy Pants please.

My deep deep condolences at the loss of your family members. I have recently lost two of my own pets and the pain is still very sharp. I still cant walk into my garage or look out my back door without expecting two pairs of loving eyes looking up at me.

((((Shadi hug)))))

i don’t see how valuing the life of something over the feelings of something else isn’t reasonable.

The important thing is to look at the farthest thing ahead of your car, and do 5 under the speed limit when cruising residential areas. Next time, those 3 cats could be an autistic kid on a tricycle.
