Loss of Interest in BM?

Exactly! Why do the whiners keep hanging around if they’re so pissed off about the mod release date, progress being made, information about the mod, etc., etc., etc. Honestly I wish an administrator would just close this thread. What started out as a genuinely interesting question has turned into a bitching party. I don’t think that was the original intent.

ME TOO!

You guys seriously need to get off your high horses and stop acting like jerks. Your excuses are getting old. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to know what little things they may be working on to tide us over until release. I’m as patient as they come. I have nothing wrong with waiting but I’d like to stay updated. That’s not much to ask for.

As for being banned. It will never happen. I do nothing to warrant it. On the other hand, telling me to “fuck off” is ban worthy. And I know what you’re trying to do Solokiller but it won’t work.

If anything, you guys are the whiners. I’m just asking an honest question and making an honest suggestion. You are turning it upside down and trying to instigate an argument.

I’m not a Dev, but being specific, I’ll try to tell you some of the things they probably are doing (when working on the mod):

Typing { } // * & | > < + - ; () and other symbols.
Typing numbers.
Typing letters.
Pressing enter.
Probably on Hammer, Visual Studio and others.
Other specific things.

I might be wrong and since they are doing this full time, full paid and fully caring for what you fully deserve to demand of them, they’re probably using assembly and coding a special build optimized for your PC, just for fun and your personal happiness.

Chill out.

No-one is acting like a jerk except you. You’ve been given an answer several times. I’m sorry if it’s not good enough for you but it’s the correct answer. There’s nothing patient about your last half dozen posts so don’t give me that rubbish. And telling you to fuck off after answering your question as fully as possible multiple times certainly isn’t ban worthy.

Just registered to make this suggestion…

I play another mod which some of you may have heard of called cspromod, and imo they have a great way of keeping the community informed and showing that the mod is progressing. And since they’ve put this in the community as a whole has been a lot happier and more patient.

https://dev.cspromod.com/

It’s just a little section of the site where devs can go and update what they are currently working on. It seems to work out great for both the devs and community because the devs don’t have to be hassled and its easy to update and the community because it keeps them informed and happy.

Maybe the developers of BM could do something similar to this?

I’m still waiting too, but I don’t check every day anymore, I am leveling my mage to 80, so I am busy, but since I love Half-Life, I will wait. I got yelled at on this forum for expressing exactly what you just did, as I have said, don’t give out ANY release date info until you are sure, the devs should know that

Loving WOW and half-life, yeah right. WOW made my brother a dick. They keep the damn thing up to date just to rake in dat cash.

And I want to get a decent job. We can want a lot of things.

Do you honestly think that the devs loose any sleep due to your whining and actually give a shit about the community’s happiness? Why should they? :brow:

This about sums up my thoughts on this topic.

Okay, let’s get technical about this.

How can I get an answer when the answer doesn’t exist from someone official? The board members here are not in charge so their “answer” (while rude, immature, and derogatory in some cases) is purely opinion. It’s not good enough because the board members don’t have the last say. And my last dozen posts were more than patient because I had to repeat myself because people like yourself overlook what I say and make accusations like you’re doing right now to further instigate an argument.

I say I’d like to see more detailed updates. Can be something small. But something would be nice. And in response, I get “stuff is something”. - Wow. What a revelation. That kind of response adds nothing to the conversation. It answers nothing. It’s just a sad attempt for sarcasm. Not to mention, rude. Nothing I say will be good because there’s a large group of people here who back one another up and get away with things like this.

They tried tried that with Twitter. They haven’t updated it in quite some time… which is the problem I’m talking about. What you said makes perfect sense.

First of all:

Thisand This.

  1. Regardless of how many times you ask for more details, details will not be given until they are ready and ripe. Keep asking if you must, but this will not change.
  2. Regardless of how much you say the dev team is not doing enough, it is impossible for them to do more. Trust me when I say this project is DAILY if not HOURLY updated and worked on.
  3. Regardless of how you feel the project leader could handle things different, my professional opinion sides with how things are being handled. Project management is on his real world resume (as well as mine) so don’t think we have some schmuck that doesn’t know what he is doing in charge here. There really IS a reason things are being done the way they are being done and this will not change.
  4. Adding a boat load of people to the project will only turn it into what is known as a clusterf*ck.
  • You folks have NO idea how many diptwads applied that in fact didn’t know what they were doing. This is not a teaching team, this is a team made up of professionals working on a non professional project. They have no time to mentor.
  • You also have no idea how many rather qualified folks applied but were declined because they were a jack of all trades but specialist in nothing.

Complain if you want, but it is not a new complaint, and it is not going to change. You will simply need to wait until the time comes that the team is able and willing to give more.

I also feel compelled to say something else. Sometimes I get the impression that folks think the dev team is doing nothing at all on a daily basis. That they are all just sitting and staring at the project waiting for someone to push a button. I assure you this is totally not the case at all. Daily there things going on. DAILY. If it keeps you sane, feel free to move along and play some other mods or games. I am confident that when it is done and released, you will find out one way or another. These cats are remaking 17 maps. SEVENTEEN. How many other mods do you know of that have this much involved?

Patience is a virtue. And for those that are patient, the dev team really does appreciate you. The fan base is the whole reason why they do it.

Um, we CAN say it because we’re merely repeating what the devs HAVE said, if you’d bothered to look.

Revelation or not, it’s the answer, it’s accurate and it’s all you’re going to get. Deal with it.

Um, I never said that. Please don’t misquote me.

There are a LOT of great people who play WoW, too bad your brother probably isn’t one of them, but I am not an elitist like many who think WoW is real life, it is a game and as such I enjoy it; I love HL, it is the best single player game ever invented and I will always love it, it is the first game I have ever played; I would pay to play HL if that was the case, too many people forget that you are playing a game because you interact with real people on WoW, if there was a new HL game I would play that instead of something else but there isn’t. :stuck_out_tongue:

My mistake.

       Thanks!

it says for recent updates follow us on Twitter, it seems the last update was 146 days ago…?
oh and I have the right to voice MY opinion, only small minded people rant about other peoples posts, this is for those who feel superior to everyone else, or for those elitist 80s ( you know who you are)

o hai wuz goin’ on in hurr?

Because ranting about other people’s posts =! voicing their opinion on said posts, rite? :retard:

Your logic fails miserably*.

[COLOR=‘Black’]* Just using my rights to voice my opinion on your logic.

P.S. Yes, you can express your opinion. No, you cannot expect to achieve anything by doing that.

s1e9a8n5, do you make pedantic, pointless inquiries and bitch-fests for every game you want that hasn’t come out yet?

It happens. At least he isnt so angry santa like that guy was over on youtube channel comment area.

:frowning: I miss him. For some reason he went away. :frowning:
