Basically, the LHC was started up last night and some particles were injected.
I hope this thing doesn’t send us back in time or anything just yet.

They were hoping that they would find the Higgs boson (the theoretical mediator of mass) within the LHC. But, due to the Theoretical part, we are not yet sure if it would create more problems than it would solve by finding it.
