Latest version, and mods

Hi there, i want to play this wonderful remake and I’ve got few questions.

So, latest version is on https://blackmesasource.com/ right? No patches?

What is this:

https://www.moddb.com/mods/black-mesa-on-a-rail-uncut
https://www.moddb.com/mods/black-mesa-surface-tension-uncut/news/surface-tension-uncut-v20-released

Its one of you guys? Or its absolutely fan made update?

Does black mesa source have proper ending with XEN? Or its still in development?

All of this information is readily available, but I’ll fill you in.

The version of Black Mesa you download from the links on the official site’s download page (the one you linked, and the one this forum is on) should be the complete, functional game. There are no official patches that I know of.

The 2 mods you linked to are both fan-made, however, their quality is excellent, and many people play the Black Mesa mod with those two expansions installed. I know I do, and I personally suggest them highly. They fit in seamlessly, and I can’t imagine playing without them.

One thing that’s of note, however, is that On a Rail Uncut is in Beta. So it’s not perfect, however, it’s certainly already quite polished, and perfectly playable. So it’s still worth adding, even though it’s not completely touched-up, in my personal opinion.

Xen is not currently in the game. That portion of the mod is still in development. The Current version of the game that has been released ends after Lambda Core.

Thank you very much! Extremely pleasant answer

Any place where i can get news about xen? Cause i see official twitter is quiet since 2012…

We won’t get any news on Xen until that part of the game is released.

You’re welcome! I always try!

And, the Facebook page is updated more than the Twitter. Not by much, but it is.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
