Last Film You Saw

Yes to this. I felt that it lost its cinematic quality too…for about the first five or ten minutes. It is rather jarring to watch at first - it looks too fast. But after that, I got used to it, and I’m thinking I rather like it better than 24 fps in a number of ways. It’s like you can see more of the actors’ acting, and it looks smooth and realistic (which I guess could be good or bad depending on your point of view). All in all I loved it. But why did they [COLOR=‘Black’]list Benedict Cumberbatch in the credits? He’s playing Smaug, so since Smaug wasn’t really in this movie…maybe it was just because they had already made the credits before it was going to be split up into more movies?

Oh and did they show that special preview for the new Star Trek where you went? Man it looks awesome, I can’t wait!

Benedict was [COLOR=‘Black’]the silhouette of the necromancer as well.

Use 151515 as the color for proper [color=’#151515’]spoiler tags, guys.

post background is a gradient so it depends on where the spoiler’s gonna be.

So it was my turn seeing the Hobbit earlier today. 'twas cool.

[COLOR=’#151515’]Though I found it really weird how there was basically no blood on screen, despite the multiple decapitations. Especially when Bilbo pulled a completely clean sword out of the brain of a warg.

s’gotta keep dat pg13 rating. Personally, I’m surprised they were able to get away with so much.

Exactly what I was thinking, but I really don’t get how a bit of blood smudge is a higher “offence” than visible decapitations.

I mean, I’ve seen plenty of 16/18+ rated movies that have a moderate amount of blood, but still do cutaways for dismembering.

Maybe it’s just that trademark fucked-up American rating system at work again, I don’t know.

Maybe it’s one or the other.

I saw The Hobbit as well, though I felt it lacked the same impact as its LOTR brethren. The 48fps was jarring, and felt almost too smooth. It doesn’t hurt the experience in any way, as I felt it was a stellar movie.

I saw Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. Ha, puns. Definitely not as good as the prior two, however the flashbacks to Home Improvement era Tim Allen was a joy to see.

Hugo. It was ok. Not incredibly stellar, though not a bad movie by any means, as it just kept going. Interesting story for sure, though half the time I was expecting something fantastical to occur.

Rewatched Office Space, because fuck your new movies, Office Space is da bomb

i got this killa up inside-a me
i can’t talk to my motha so i talk to my diary

Saw The Hobbit today, in 3D but 24FPS. I hated the 3D; it made everything blurry and hard to focus on, and in some of the scenes, most notably the caves, I had no sense of depth at all.

The movie itself was excellent, but one thing really bothered me: Why the hell was Sting the only blade that glowed?

For fuck’s sake. That’s you. Not the system.

I saw the last 30 minutes of The Bourne Legacy. It was pretty hilarious.

It’s an imperfect system that doesn’t work for a considerable portion of the movie watching audience.

I saw the hobbit the other day and I really liked it.

It didn’t have the same sense of urgency or scale as LOTR, but I expected that, considering the nature of the book anyway, and how little the Dwarves task seemed to matter to anyone but themselves, Bilbo, and Gandalf. I quite liked the actor they got for Bilbo.

And lol, my friend who liked it was like “The movie wasn’t violent enough” and he seemed to have no recollection of the 30 different decapitations he just witnessed beforehand.

You fucking idiot, you’re just saying that because polarized 3D doesn’t work for you.

Uh… Argue with yourself often, Jethro?

I have no idea if he’s on my side or not.

Just saw Crank.

It was alright, I guess. It’s like a movie adaptation for GTA.

There are a lot of things about the medium of film in general that don’t work for everyone.

Just got back from Django Unchained. Fucking hell it was amazing.
