LAMBDA CORE - Stuck here?

But that’s the scary one… why would you even WANT to go in there? :fffuuu:

I must have missed this one…

Found out the hard way about the insta death portal, I Spent a good part of an hour trying to do this sequence very challenging but fun.

Yeah, I think I remember one of them dumping you into a maintenance shaft or something. Oh well, that’s what quicksave is for. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think he means the one on the top level that’s clearly malfunctioning (shooting sparks). It’s insta-death if you enter it.
All the other ones are good to go for exploring, the freefall maintenance shaft has a portal at the bottom so it basically just gives you a good scare and that’s it.
Maybe you can airstrafe enough midfall to miss that portal, didn’t try that.

Found a rather nasty bug, which not only screwed up my auto-saves (meaning I have to re-do Lambda Core from scratch), but is also preventing me from progressing.

After activating the coolant systems and going to the Aux Tank area, I skip fighting the monsters (not enough ammo/hp/armor) and jump straight into the tank. After flipping the switch to open the gate, I pop up for some fresh air before diving down and swimming through the tunnel.

And here’s the problem: Just when I reach the loading screen, I run out of oxygen. After the loading screen I’m losing hp, but I’m stuck in place and unable to move the 5 yards or so needed to get to a fresh air source. The first time I got stuck near the ceiling of the tunnel, so I figured it was a bug and reloaded an earlier save. This time I stuck to the middle of the tunnel, yet still got the stuck-in-place bug.

I had my movement freeze up, but reloading the previous autosave and trying again got me through, no problem.

I had this problem on my third and most recent play through- I happened to be recording it for a L.P. so I had to edit around it.

Basically all I did was use the console to noclip move forwards slightly and noclipped again.

Make sure you save after you’re moving again.

Thankfully, that one is visually different than the others so you can avoid it.

I turn all 4 and aux tank green, nothing more to do, I go to the scientist and he says “You still have to open the other tank!”. I’ve turned the switch for 02 and fought my way back against enemies to get this buggy message. I go back to coolant 02, open the grate again, it lifts me to the ledge with the batteries again. The door is now locked, so I can’t get to the zombies etc. That grate just won’t stay open.

Maybe it’s because I gave up on coolant 02 and went to activate aux before discovering the ledge.

If I restart from tank 01 finished, is there some way to confirm that tank 02 is completely finished/will be accepted by the scientist? Because the red board with the lamps seems to mean nothing.

Restarted from before entering Lambda Core and did it in the correct sequence and finished the game.

Would have loved a G-Man ending, was a bit strange and cut off.

Teleports were hard and annoying.

Still, great job and can’t wait for the sequel

Not really a sequel, per se, but the next release will be Xen with the G-Man ending.

Sooo, I’m at the teleport sequence where I’m being sent off to Xen. I’m not stuck, but I never enabled the second reactor core. I got the first one, and could figure out #2 so I decided to try my luck at the aux thing. Next thing I know I’m being shipped off to Xen…

Hi there,
I’m stuck at the last door where the scientist and the gaurd pull a gun on you after realising its me they put the gun down but thats it.
They dont open it no matter what i tryed reloading a previous save wich made me do the chapter all over again >.<
I tryed shooting the guard with the laser but he does nothing shooting the scientis results in a game over screen.

Pls help.:fffuuu:

You can crawl through the wreckage.

You should go to the big glass casing first. The female scientist will give you the long jump module, and if you stand by the guard, he will open a room full of ammo.

Well I stuck in the final scene in big chamber during the preparations for the beam to XEN. Well there just too much enemies. Is there trick? OK, Shooting them down. But with one shot three more appears. Thats demotivating… Because they shoot you down in no time! Even that scientist takes too much time for his preparations. Any suggestions?

Thanks a lot! Merry Chrismas.

Maddin

If you can’t fight them, kite them. Just long jump in circles.

I tucked myself into that corner where you have those two elevated ledges, equipped the hivehand, and just held the fire button down for all my worth, spraying the chamber with thornets, until the scientist told me to jump into the portal orb.

It worked.

Can the monsters kill the scientist there in the first place?

Thanks! I’ll try this.
