James Cameron's AVATAR

Ah. Okay then, as long as it’s not the Nickelodeon cartoon. This just proves my ignorance with that, which I think is a good thing.

But seriously get some @#$*ing unique titles please.

Would you prefer: James Cameron’s New Space adventure with War Mongering Humans with Peaceful Aliens that want to be friends but probably likely fail.

If it weren’t for Spongebob still being around, Nickelodeon would be worse than Cartoon Network.

James Cameron holy shit.

Those damn humans - we should kill 'em all! > :frowning:

That’s what the title should be.

At first i thought you were talking about someones avatar when i read the thread title, then i thought you were talking about the “Avatar: The Last Air Bender” movie, and now i have come to my senses and see you are talking about a movie which sounds strangely close to “Halo”.

Man, that movie looks nothing like I imagined it when I first heard about it.

Penny Arcade has two games. Isn’t that enough?

Which in turn always sounded to me like Larry Niven’s “Ringworld” crossed with James Cameron’s “Aliens” anyway, so I guess that takes it full circle.

that cartoon(not anime at all btw) was a clever thing, with many wise thoughts contained in it.
it would be great if some “very grown-ups” won’t be so fastidious, and have a look at these childish toons.

(uh, did fail in grammar again?)

No thanks, I’d rather do something else then watch an anime on children’s TV.

just i’ve expected to see - common adults are so common…

More to the point this is all off topic. The thread is about James Cameron’s Avatar.

New Trailer Motherfuckers:

I just saw this on the top of the thread list and got scared that Hot#s was unbanned. :fffuuu:

I’m going to wait and see if it’s worth going to see it.
Hopefully the reviews won’t be biased.

Sam Worthington needs to get in my pants RN.
Also I’m already feeling attracted to the blue aliens.

The only problem I forsee is how cartoony they look when put next to a human.

It hasn’t suspended my disbelief successfully, at least in the trailer.

But I’ll still see the movie opening weekend.

Giant blue aliens, unlike Savage Planet, look like they were designed by a closet furry. Really disappointing* that a film with this kind of art budget would settle for that.

This movie is going to appeal strongly to its demographic (13-16 year old boys) and will look great in 3d, but sadly it appears that being “good” isn’t in the cards. If it is going to “revolutionize” anything, it will be an interesting field test of how good a live actor shot in stereoscopic 3d will look interacting with stereoscopic digital characters. I do not believe that has been done extensively before.

*second opinion on the art direction

Your right, they DO have almost nothing in common!

That’s exactly what I was thinking when I saw the trailer.

All I seem to hear about this movie is James Cameron, James Cameron, James Cameron. The trailer was mediocre to lame. The plot seems silly and I don’t think it’s trying to be. And the special effects aren’t that great.

In short I agree with this entirely: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UacLvPiz–8
