I’ve got this engine error message. Maybe it’s somehow useful to you.
OS: Ubuntu 16.04 (64 bit)

This error seems to be related to the gibs.
On bm_c3a2c it can be recreated by killing the houndeyes with the gluon gun.
On the second last map it happened to me after destroying the alien grunt corpses with grenades.
