Impossible jump

Everything was going fine and smooth until the lift in sector 4 (where you have to jump up some crates and crawl through a vent to get into the security room)

I’ve tried a hundred times, reloaded the game, reloaded earlier saves and tried using objects, but it’s simply impossible to get up onto that crate. i’m blocked somehow

any ideas?

edit: forgot… specs are windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, 8 GB ram, EVGA geforce 570, western digital 750 gb hdd, MSI mobo. anything else?

Have you ever heard about the thing called “crouch jump” aka “duck jump”? Did you even pay attention to nice little tutorial notifications that appear at the beginning of the game?

Strange I crouch jumped right onto it first time through.

Use ctrl when you jump aka the crouch jump. You should practice it because it’s a requirement for the rest of Gordon’s adventure.
