I guess I have to be the one to make the Halo 4 thread again.

Windows 7 was pretty good, but that’s only because it was a relief from the shit that was Vista, at least before the patches.

The only reason people still use Windows, I imagine, is due to its necessity for many programs required by numerous professions.

despite halo’s console-ly status, it will always hold a special place in my heart;

Dont fear, you could always install windows 8 (even if it allegidly sucks absolute monkey nuts) to be able to play 360 games.

HHHHHHNNNNNGGGGGYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGG

YOU BEAT ME TO IT BUT(T) FUCK IT IM GONNA POST IT AGAIN!FUCK YEA THE FLOOD IS BACK!

as a part-time halo geek, the flood in halo 4 (which is in MP only acting as the new playermodel for infection infected) have most
likely reached intergalatic stage of evolution (meaning they fully understand sentient-created technologies and utilyze it to their advantage)
though not present in the games’ time period; in theory, the intergalactic stage of flood evolution were the type of flood that the forerunners were forced to activate the halos to.
The reason the said flood were able to evolve was because the forerunners were too hesitant to kill off the remaining weakened-flood after the ancient-advanced-intersteller-humans defeated them (read the books Crytum, Primordium, and the upcoming Silentium for sources)

Either that, or the Flood in halo 4 are simply infected spartan 4’s :stuck_out_tongue: and miraculously adapted to such technology with virtualy no physical deformities like
EVERY OTHER FUCKIN COMBAT FORM EVERY WITNESSED IN THE HALO UNIVERSE

Giant colored font! MY EYES!

At least it’s not comic sans…

I knew they’d do this with Infection eventually! I just didn’t expect the hyper-evolved combat forms to have such cute mouths.

such ashame the halo 4 flood are not canon (i think)

because so far the antagonists in halo are just the warrior-class-prometheans and the guerrila covanent reminants

although the presence of the crytum [that giant sphere] makes me think the didact will return, i still have no idea which didact it is (there are 2 didacts according to the previews of halo: silentium; one is the original [which was executed by faber, the masterbuilder and leader of the ecumene], and the other is the bornsteller reincarnation)

Bornsteller is a forerunner teenager (nicknamed “manipilars” because of how they lack any genetic mutations/augmentations that adults would possess; essentially they are the “pure” forerunners)

Didact is the leader of the warrior-class-prometheans (the military basically) and is a promethean himself, and is also the husband of the librarian (a lifeworker who indexed the species of milky way before the halo activation)

Didact cloned his memory into Bornsteller so that he could essentially live on (because Faber intends to execute him); in which Bornsteller recieves his first mutations, and therfore is now a promethean himself

If the Didact entity will make a appearene in halo 4, it could be the Bornsteller-Didact
but Halo: silentium seems to imply that the original Didact DIDNT get executed, but rather traveled the universe to keep a “unimaginable evil” at bay (most likely the precursors)

Halo 4

Bornstellar-Didact was far too nice to be evil.

If anything, I’d assume it’s Ur-Didact since he’s had plenty of time to get pissed off at Faber for marooning him for a few hundred thousand years.

We’ll know come November.

Also, Promethean Weapons Trailer is up.

Click for no music.

well lets not forget about the human-forerunner war; the fateful war that lead to the devolution of the humans (they were stripped of there technology and exiled back to erde-tyrene/earth)

off-topic: funny because the “ancient” names for “earth”, “mars” etc. are either german-latin translations or biblical names (mars was originally named “eden” and earth was “erde-tyrene”)

back on semi-topic: remember in the terminals of halo CEA, guity spark makes a poetic-ish statement: “the ancient enemies rise again”
that was like a metaphor to how humans (unanimously) oppose the forerunners “once again”

but you do make a point, born-didact is far to kind hearted to want to oppose humanity

the millenia-long conflict in the halo universe revolves around the precursor’s desire to pass on their mantle to humanity and ther dick move of creating the flood (its funny why they are so desperate of having successors when they are, as far as humanity and forerunners know, “GODS”) is there really anything that the precursors fear will lead to their extinction?

my thoughts exactly, if halo was a faithful pc (or mac) game, sandbox mode would be mod tools; matchmaking would be dedicated servers; RANKING WOULD BE LIKE AN MMO AND NOT COD

microsoft is such a pain, easily comparable to activision and EA (but whats sad is microsoft is only a part time enertainment company and they are already ruining gaming at the level of activision/EA)

this is crazy but if you think of it, halo COULD’VE gave mac a better reputation for gaming (because we all know mac didnt get into REAL gaming until steam came)

new campaign footage possible spoilers

Yeah its true, and apple didn´t realized the importance the videogame industry for their products until the recent years, thanks to Steam due they tried make a push on them (For years:fffuuu

I´m wondering what valve could show on Eurogamer expo??

an edit button.

At the current rate, Valve will probably show off a remake of a classic online multiplayer game. Maybe World of Warcraft, or perhaps Mario Kart.

XD i think valve havent been so original in many many years.

they did just add coop to their biggest (and one of the biggest) MP game ever released.
that’s a pretty and bold and drastic move. I think the thing is that people are used to this shit from them now.

Damn! I will have buy a fuckin xbox for this game

Is that a giant fan sucking in a disintegrating spaceship?

Well it gets released on my birthday so… why not.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
