Humanity to become extinct?

All trust Bacon, the intelligent savior of humanity who lets most of us die on a planet full of water.

Humanity must survive, like I said before if we are wiped out there will not be enough time left for evolution to take place and evolve intelligent creatures.

Before what happens?

Actually, I highly doubt that. If only humans die out, and maybe a few kinds of apes, we’d still have other intelligent creatures, like crows, dolphins and Elephants, so nature would still have enough time to develop intelligent creatures.

There doesn’t have to be intelligent creatures.

He just wants intelligent creatures on this planet.

fucking dolphins will ruin this planet :fffuuu:

I can see us being extinct due to something like running out of water or not having the resources to fuel the machines that make our food. Hopefully India and China will stop over populating the Earth -__-

BTW, here’s a list of top ten most intelligent animals on earth.

I said intelligent creatures because they would be able to observe the universe they live in. The problem is that the Sun will start to fuse helium atoms which will heat up the core which means the Sun will start to expand. When this happens the Earth can no longer support life as temperatures will increase dramatically eventually turning the Earth into Venus v2.

So when humans are gone, evolution won’t have enough time to ‘bring us back’ in one way or another.

Assuming we all die in a million years, evolution still would have the time to create other intelligent beings who are on par with us. There are many intelligent animals out there, who could evolve into something like us in a small enough amount of time. I mean “Like us” as in overall intelligence and capabilities of our mind.

You can’t be sure of that. There are so many things to worry about when talking about evolution. The slighest change and it won’t happen. Just like the dinosaurs didn’t evolve again after the extinction.

Are you sure about that last sentence? Because I could remember all the “dinosaurs” that were left over were birds, which were much better suited to their environment than dinosaurs, so they didn’t need to change back. The reason dinosaurs didn’t evolve again is because the original blueprint (I can’t find a more suitable name) had evolved into all those dinosaurs, which were all gone, except for birds. The reason dinosaurs never evolved again is enirely different from the reason I think you’re implying. So, in essence, dinosaurs didn’t evolve again because they couldn’t.

EDIT: Actually, I think there were creatures quite similar to dinosaurs. They are called mammals.

Tell that to my parrotosaur.

There are more planets than Earth in the universe.

But mice are the smartest creatures on the planet :frowning:

Oh really? You think so? Oh gosh I did not know that, thank you for that astute observation.

I never gave a reason why dinosaurs didn’t evolve again, I just said that they didn’t ‘come back’ after the extinction.

Oh, so you weren’t implying anything. Oh well. Point still stands. Creatures will never evolve again after they went extinct. Something similar, however, can.

wtf is this talk about ‘evolving again’?

some dinosaurs evolved into birds, some dinosaurs died out, other reptiles evolved into mammals

evolution is not a process that works towards something

I meant that there can’t be an animal that evolves into an exact replica of another one.
