Both on weapons and hands. Is there a console command for that?
I was wondering the same, except with the alien blood. I don’t mind the regular blood but I hate the green gooey alien blood
the bullsquid spit is my favorite effect but the on-gun blood’s texture file location has plagued me since release. I want to replace them with some dark crisp, non-pixelly decals but I don’t exactly know if it’s so easy. For all I know it just slaps on blood decals used elsewhere in the game
It gives a touch of realism when u see blood on the gloves and the gun, I wonder why someone wants to remove it :fffuuu:

real blood doesn’t have a jagged white outline when it come sin contact with gloves or guns
It also has some issues with texture mapping. It kind of cuts off at parts of the texture seam. The effect is a great idea, but the execution was kind of a letdown.
Cutting on texture seams is why I want to disable it because I use Luffy’s improved viewmodels pack. The seam issue is very ugly with Glock and Magnum in that pack. Actually, I can’t believe that’s not a selectable option in game options, while many more trivial options are there.
I’m not sure but maybe it has something to do with modeldetailfx proxy in the material files.
Does anyone know how to do it?
I don’t believe you can in the currently released build. I will make this an option for our next release.
Just as confirmation, will their also be an option to separately turn on/off the alien blood?
Not because it looks bad. It just for some reason makes me a bit grossed out in a way I don’t want to be.
I guess you can make blood decals “empty”, but that’s if you REALLY hate this feature
You’re playing a game that is inherently built around killing alien creatures so I hope you’ll understand that something like that isn’t a priority
Maybe I could tie in the low violence setting to this though, we will see. I have a lot of other stuff to tackle first.
What determines how the blood covers the weapon?
There’s a convar you can use. I forget what it is, but it SHOULD be an option. I know there is one because I disabled it myself…

I just had the grimey green blood, that’s all. Regular blood, bullsquid acid/spit is fine, but eh. I don’t like that green muck all over the gloves and weapons as a personal preference, not that I have a problem with violence.
What do you mean? Aliens’ blood is yellow, not green.
it’s also rather strange how Gordon’s gloves clean themselves when you switch weapons (say your crowbar is covered in gunk) then switching to the pistol, tada, magical clean gloves

Well, my point was that gooey murky yellow (It’s green when it splats when you hit things, but ‘paints’ yellow).
Either way, my opinion remains about the current iteration slightly annoying/grossing me, not to be annoyingly pedantic about the exact colour and shade I mean to explain.
