How to disable this annoying pain text and sound

Hello! Please told me how to disable scientist pain text and shock/paint sound, when someone shoot me I listen this annoying sounds.
Also, question #2: “Why multiplayer is not popular?”

  1. Set dialougue to “Subtitles Only”
  2. Multiplayer isn´t nearly as good as HL1, thats why no-one is playing it at the moment.

Or maybe the fact that it’s an unfinished, Early Access title, something which there’s a lot of stigmas about purchasing?
