I honestly don’t get what people like about the language…
English is much better ( English /= American )
English is “much better” because it’s a language almost every moron can speak these days(okay maybe not every moron can write it but they can speak). German is also a fun language(also to me cause it’s really like my language so it’s easier) and pretty damn awesome.
JE VOUDRAIS VINGT MELONS, SIL VOUS PLAIT!
^lol how do you relate to french?
Yeah. Watch Das Boot then talk shit about German.

I am from Austria - German is my native language
:hmph:
It depends on the situation: If you have someone who already broke up with several boys(say 5 to 14)I’d not wait to long. I’ll wait but not like 2 years or anything because I don’t want to take the risks of her cheating on me.
One shall not disrespect his mother tongue

P.S. hahaha oops
I understand only the last part which means Please. I bet almost English or American people can understand what I’m gonna say: Ik spreek een klein beetje Duits, een klein beetje Frans maar geen Chinees.
You speak chinese?
Also, what I said means “I would like 20 melons please”.
no.
ps: you spelled Chinese wrong.
<.<
.>
No i didn’t.
Well, what’s she doing out of the kitchen in the first place?
Buying food?
Maybe you would like it more if it was officially called Austrian? :retard:

:hmph:
Agreed. Too many r’s and z’s. They sounds like they’re angry 24/7 IMO.
Why the fuck would you ask politely for twenty watermelons when you’re raging?
Eigentlich sind wir ganz friedlich.
(We are quite peaceful, actually.)
German is a language with a very large supply of vocabularies. The amount of words is larger than in many other languages, and therefore it is a good language for defining, describing and analyzing stuff. It is a good language for long debates and sophisticated discussions.
On the other hand, the great amount of hard plosive sounds makes it also a suitable language for holding powerful speeches. German has a complex and not always logical grammar, which makes it difficult to master.
The huge supply of words has benefitted generations of German poets and writers, but the language is also suitable for military use, where it doesn’t sound as out of place as, for example, French might sound.
Certain dialects of German sound comical, others sound like slang. Bavarian German sounds like redneck babble, Hamburg German sounds like sailor slang, Saxonian German sounds totally odd, like drunken Irishmen might sound to British high society members. The classical German that origins from Hannover, where I abide, is considered the office (and therefore official) language in Germany. Everybody who wants to be taken serious tries to master it.
And, of course, German sounds awesome in action movies.
I never said Germans weren’t pacific. I just said they don’t sound(as in, the way words are said) very peaceful. I got a friend who is from Germany (well, his father is from Switzerland and his mother from Germany), and when I ear them talking German (or Swiss-German, actually) they speak very loud and the way words are spoken (many r’s from the throat) it sounds as if they were angry. But I know they’re not since I can understand a couple of words.
I was only kidding, dude. No hard feelings
My teacher originally learned Swiss-German and it’s completely different sounding.
My three favorite languages are (high) German, English and Russian (although i haven’t learned any writing in Russian for obvious reasons).
That’s what makes German awesome. I can shout ‘Ich mochte (can’t be arsed finding an umlaut now) ein Kugelschreiber!’ at the top of my lungs and people think I’ve just condemned their mothers to a death camp or something when all I’ve done is say I’d like a pen. Conversely if I actually want to swear, ‘Lech mich am arsch, dummkopf!’ is plainly understandable by anyone. What a great language to curse in.
What reason would that be? It’s actually fairly easy to learn.

And I’m currently taking French in school (along with German, already took Spanish) and I will never study French again. The pronunciation of words compared to how they’re spelled is ridiculous. German is awesome though :awesome: .
