i was about 7. I was totally into hl1 and just screamed at the sight of it. but i had windows 98. 
I was 24 but I didn’t play it until the Orange Box came out.
Still I played Portal first, maybe I thought HL2 would have to be a letdown, since I really love the first one… little did I know. I ended up playing through HL2 and both episodes on one weekend, afterwards I was totally exhausted but very happy… I know, lucky me, right?

I was 8. Actually, I remember seeing the Xbox version that year or a year later on the shelves at some store. It looked freaking awesome but I knew I couldn’t get it, but I never forgot it…until eventually I got it anyway, but that was years later. 2009 I think.
