I only really buy something off STEAM when they’re having one of their big sales events, and usually only for small games like AudioSurf or Trine.
Most AAA titles still cost more (about 49.99 EUR) than if I were to buy them at retail, albeit online (around £25-£30).
Oh great… I have a NVidia card so I get Portal: First Slice, a demo of a game I already own, for free. 
Bah, I’m buying an ATI 5750 tomorrow anyway, so I should get HL2DM regardless

I have to say, with all the holiday steam deals, I got around 50 games for 75 bucks. Yeah half of them are a bit older games but it was totally worth it. And I love the vintage games.

I plan on buying a new one for CrossFireX in a few months though, and it seemed like a good choice, since apparently it’s performance pretty much doubles when CrossFire’d.
Right… I’m not planning on playing it much either… it just seems stupid to me that I own all versions of HL2, plus bought it on retail which got me even CSS bundled with it, but never got access to HL2DM…
Anyways… on topic, Steam has probably saved me around $200, not counting all the games I’ve got from gifts .
