Houndeye Tinnitus Effect Missing

The effect does not at all work for me for whatever reason. I’ve tried enabling/disabling it, restarting the campaign, reinstalling the mod, nothing works. The ringing effect works on explosions like barrels and grenades but when Houndeyes attack I basically just go deaf. Their attacks just cause an instant 2-3 seconds of silence.

It’s the only performance bug I’ve noticed so far and I’m at Blast Pit. Any clues?

Nobody? Am I really the only one experiencing this?

Yeah, I have the same problem, but It isn’t something bif, so I don’t bother with it. But youre right. Their attack is all the same with or without the tinnitus turned on.

With it turned on I found that the world would momentarily go quiet after getting hit by a houndeye blast. There’s no high-pitched ringing sound like you would get from explosions. I think I prefer this world-gone-quiet effect to the HL2 grenade ear ringing effect. (Though at the moment I’ve turned the tinnitus off.)

I wouldn’t really be bothered with it if it was a bug for everyone but I’ve asked some people and they say the ringing effect definitely works for them in every way.

I’m enjoying the game but it’s a nagging feeling to think that something specific to your system might be causing a bug to occur, gamebreaking or not.

I just turned this on and it works for me fine…very nice effect.

Well not for me still. Can’t figure what the issue is.

I didn’t get ringing but I did get the sound fading out. I just assumed that was the normal tinnitus effect, since I couldn’t remember what it sounded like. It’s nice either way.

I don’t have it either. The audio just seems to fade out then fade back in like other people have said.

Samerz

I get the sound fading out, no ring though. Had it on my entire first playthrough.
