Home Made PC Desk

Ok, So this may not be as impressive as some other peoples work but I was pretty impressed with myself once done.

I got bored of my small desk trying to hold 2 Screens and a printer… and my old tower as the cooling was shit, it started to overheat easily when in the designated place…

So I bought some MDF, Which cost £17… Some wall plugs which cost £10 and set off to work… 8 Hours later I had this…

A mess!

Followed by…

I forgot to mention I’d already got a new PC by this time… xD

Looked a tad bare how it was, though the floating effect was cool. SO I added two support legs… which don’t really support, but make it look pretty? o.O

Also note the additon of the ‘Man Draws’ which house hundreads of randomly useless wires, driver discs and whatever else I throw in there.

A picture of the supports under the desk:

BEFORE! Andybody says anything, I’m not a complete ass - The radiator hasn’t been on for 2 years. There’s no need for me to worry about my multibar being in that posistion!

Then I had nowhere to put my games, so I used the leftover MDF to create a full length shelf.

I don’t have a picture of it, however the cables are all now tidied up and the wires for the Monitors, Mouse & Keyboard, External HDD and Card Reader are all now hiden by a wooden case… (you can just about see it on the pic above inbetween the two monitors)

Looks great! I don’t have the nice little cubby you have there so I’ve been just modding my desk (thereby making it almost built in :stuck_out_tongue: ).
You do all of the curved cuts with a jigsaw or you have a router because ause those are some nice edges.

ooh, nice chair, top pic.

Also, good job on the table, looks great. I have trouble fitting my 2 monitors on my desk, but seeing as I’m a student in rents, can’t really do anything like this

Haha, The chair appeald to me as it resembles a Bucket seat and I’m also in to my cars… It’s sily comfy though! (Unless you mean the rocking chair that was bought when my Mrs was Pregant!) hehe…

FireTime - The edges? Draw a line around the lid off a round container, cut it with a jigsaw and sand-down. The corners aren’t perfect but you only notice up close. But as it was made in my Grandfathers garage with basic tools, I think it was a pretty sweet job. haha.

We couldn’t fit a router in there if we tried!

The place i’m living in now is rented, but screw it - once I move out I’ll fill in the holes and paint over 'em! haha.

real nice, good job. I really need to get some slick custom desk now.

Simracer by any chance?

Nah.

Boyracer more like  I do enjoy racing games however I’ve not really played any since GRID. Really need to buy Shift2 and Hot Pursuit.

The support legs make it look way less cool. You should go for the floating look. Otherwise, it looks great!

nice.

Not my style, but still - very cool. Did you hand craft all that, or did you go to a woodshop?

My desk is a ten foot long bench with an ikea entertainment center stuck under it.

Your is pretty nice, but I bet you can’t carelessly stick knifes in it when you’re bored.

my desk survived that phase

Late responces, but eh…

Nope, Can’t carelessly stick knives in it when bored, however I’ve also passed that phase.

Combine - All hand crafted. (If you call a pencil and a piece of string hand crafting to draw the arch) All work done on the desk was carried out in my Grandads garage with no help apart from my dad. (Who isn’t a profesional…) :stuck_out_tongue:

New addition to my Desk / Setup.

Not that I actually said what my PC specs were. o.O

I only added the Edifier S550’s this morning.

I’m not bothering with the rear speakers being behind me, as usually when Gaming I use the headset. The speakers are four musical loudness. The Sub has epic bass…

I rather liked the first pic…chaos breeds genius!

Nice Ulaks.
