^ Yeah I’ve already looked there, but they don’t have Jamo parts. That’s why I wanted to know if there are universal refoam kits.
Sorry but I didn’t understand a thing you said I may have not said it before, but I don’t know a thing about audio stuff
By the way, I found this while looking in the receiver’s manual:
Don’t know if it can help.
do you know which model the speakers are?
Jamo CL 25.
Edit: I just realized I messed up pretty bad when looking at the model’s name. I first saw Jamo CL 45. That’s why I came up with nothing, these speakers don’t exist. So I googled their real name and found these:
Link 1
Link 2
The first link is probably the one, since the other one seems small and more fitted for the middle speaker, not the lowest one.
I can’t find any documentation online. Do you have a manual or something like that?
No, unfortunately.
Last resort: do you (or any of your friends) have a guitar amp?
Try to see if it drives the speakers (CAUTION: check for matching impedances. Also, always start with a very low volume signal aka dont blast your speakers).
Yeah, I do, but I don’t think I can plug in the speakers to it.
Edit: Actually I do have another amp at home. I’ll try to plug them to it tomorrow.
So I plugged them to my dad’s amp (Denon DRA-545R) and the bass sounded much better. I guess my amp is the problem then =/. Anyone could recommend me a good amplifier that could drive them, under 100$ ?
you should still repair your speakers
ok you can of course repair the suspension I did so recently on some rather nice Seas drivers…
and your speakers will not sound right until you do!
Kits should be available from speaker re-furbishers also look on ebay. You may need to remove the dustcap to shimmy the voice coil if the tolerance is especially tight. Replacements may have to be purchased separately.
I would not advise replacing the whole driver as there are often large differences between similar looking units and the manufacturer will have designed the cabinet and crossover to those specific drivers.
Your amp may be absolutely fine after the rebuild the picture before tells us nothing apart from the output socket rating which is meaningless in this case.
No such thing as underpowered amp unless you are playing at volumes the amp can’t cope with (audible distortion) or high bass levels tbh…
I knew it! Whatever you get, make sure it has the wattage and resistance (ohms) you need.
Don’t think you can get one for sub-100 though. Ask around head-fi, there’s always someone who knows everything you need.
Yeah.
Damn. I’ll try asking anyways. Thanks.
