“Hi, this is Gabe Newell.”
Whenever I see a thread like this I tend to face palm before even reading it.
We get so many threads which go along the lines of “I SAW A WEBSITE AND THE SOURCE CODE HAD A ‘H’ AND AN ‘L’ IN IT! OMGFG THAT MEANS HALF LIFE!!!11 ALSO, THE WEBSITE WAS THE THIRD ONE I CLICKED ON TODAY!!111 OMG!! THAT MEANS HALF LIFE 3 IS COMING OUT!!!1”
It all just seemed a bit silly to me to be looking for Hs, Ls and 3s in the source code of websites which were clearly fan made.
Until something strange happened to me!
I was looking up at the night sky and I saw many many stars. I started connecting them in my head and you would never believe what I saw… HL3!
I even took a photograph to prove to you guys…
proof!
So what do you think? Do you think that Valve has moved the stars in order to secretly tell us that HL3 is coming? Obviously they wouldn’t just tell us in a press conference because that would be too sensible…they would clearly put the message out in the heavens themselves!!
Now I understand the source code checkers. I am one of you guys! I have seen that you must look for signs everywhere no matter how odd they may be!
This^
When you extract the “Cave Johnson” audio file and compare it to the audio files in any of the Portal 2 video in sound-booth…very interesting.
Let’s just say, people shouldn’t write this off as a fan site too quickly.
That audio file was extracted from Portal 2 in the first place. It’s not uncommon for Valve games to have plenty of unused shit in the files.
Some beta tester made that site as a joke.
First i knew it was fake but than i clicked on the logo and Gabe Newell popped up and than it hit me… this is SUPERFAKE!!!
The derp is strong in this thread
Indeed. But if after Gabe there followed some text saying “THIS IS A FAKE” people would still think it was legit.
“well I wouldn’t write it off as a fake just because it says it’s a fake. Valve have been known to play jokes. So I think it’s real.”
Spaghetti.
Seems legit.
The derp is so strong it almost killed me.
I can confirm that this page is not owned by Valve.
Valve always signs each of their web pages with a digital signature that prevents phishing, and other thing.
If you look in the HTML coding of that page, it does not contain Valve’s digital signature. Ergo, its not owned or operated by Valve.
Also I really doubt that Valve would name there java script code “GabenIsFat.js”
Thank goodness you’re here to put all suspicions to rest! What would we do without you?
Swampfox? Is that you making another go at it?
i have found an eater egg on that site, click the blappature logo
Have you looked at the posts in the first page?
The food bites back! :fffuuu:
