Really, you didn’t have to quote anything at all, considering what you said applied to the topic at hand

The current ones really aren’t bad, but there’s just something about those little orange patches on the hands that make it look wimpy, or undersized compared to the oversized arms. It just seems to me that they went to such legths to protect the arms, then went really half-assed on the fingers. WillhelmKranz’ version effectively fixed that by just making the patches on the hands the sliiiightest bit bigger.

I dunno. there’s just something a little off about the way the hands look in that screenshot.

Feel free to crit my crit, If you flame me hard enough I might be convinced to improve the drawing. If I revisit it, one thing I’d like to do is make it more apparent that the wrist guard rotates separately from the forearm and add some radial scratches to that area,.

Thanks for the feedback but you missed the bus by a couple months. Better art has been posted ITT, and I think there’s a general agreement (or at least a significant amount of people who agree) that the armor plates on the hands of the BM model are too small and puny, which is what I was getting at with my mockup.

whoa, crazy - I never noticed that. It certainly fits the bill for making the back of the hand armor plate more bulky and substantial looking. Although the patches on the knuckle are a bit silly. Well, what else can we say? “if it was in HL, it will be in Black mesa.”

I am deeply upset and offended that the control panel which I recently happily learned existed is not going to be included in the remake. That is a weak sauce indeed, my friends.

My baseless speculation is that the panel is the HEV’s morphine-administering system. Basically a pump and housing apparatus for an IV (or needle) tapping directly into the radial and ulnar arteries of the wrist. In its absence, where else would morphine be administered to the HEV-wearer in case of injury?

Also, the panel includes the volume for the HEV voiceover and possibly HUD settings. It is a very important function!
