Half-Life 1 [WON] - No music in Win 7

I’ve had the Steam HL1 all along. I recently bought a new computer with Windows 7. Of course I had to download all my games again (at least the ones I wanted to play right away). After doing the achievements for HL2 Episodes 1 & 2, I too got the urge to play the good ol’ HL1. The graphics were horrible. I went into the game’s options and did everything, but stand on my head, to get it right. From there I went to Steam Support, they suggested to do an “autoconfig” now it’s as good as new. Steam’s Support is really good.

You probably just missed it play the first time round, because as the Half-Life law goes: Tracks are only played once, then it’s back to dead silence

I agree that the WON version is the best. The blood splashing/repeating issue is due to something else though, it might be the high definition pack.

No.

Hey! I just came across my first bug in HL1 on Steam! Whenever I shoot the M203 Grenade Launcher the game crashes and I get a “Fatal Error: sv_starsoundL volume 390” or something like that. I already googled it and didn’t get anything. Anybody know how to fix it? Or what it means?

Try checking your game file integrity (in properties). Or maybe just delete the game and reinstall it (HL1 doesn’t take too long to reinstall).

There is an intro music right at the begining or you can try to pick up the hazard suit, that’s where the techno/disco music will come in.

in properties/audio, turn off cd music  worked for me

EDIT: i mean in-game properties
