Half-Life 1 expansions source remakes.

…bummer

The weapons will all be shared for consistency.
The HUDs, however, will be fairly different. We are still experimenting with some ideas for the OBM HUD. Each mod has its own style to present, so we really want to cater to that.

There is a plan to re-create Opposing Forces multiplayer for OBM, and some maps have already had quite a bit of work done on them.
Currently it’s taking a back seat to SP. But we plan to have the standard Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch for its release.
There has not been any real consensus of whether or not we will produce other game modes for it though.

I personally, would like to see us add other gamemodes for it such as Capture The Flag and something more original… maybe like a VIP sort of gamemode where security guard players have to escort scientists to a particular destination or to do some sort of objective while HECU players have to kill them. I also have a couple other ideas for more original game modes, but we have yet to discuss much, because MP is still very early in development and not the main focus right now.
I would also like to see the powerups that were present in opposing forces MP.

The way I see it is… why should we even bother working on a MP when its just gonna be the same old game modes which you see in every other game and mod? I feel like it should have something original which keeps people playing and attracts new players.

All the original easter eggs (or something very similar) will be present, among other totally new ones :wink:

Would it be too much to ask to reveal some? :slight_smile:

well, the glory of easter eggs is they are supposed to be a secret and a surprise, so you will just have to wait :stuck_out_tongue:

True

They more then exist. They actually look alot like Black Mesa, out beloved mod “released in 2009” Also, they seem to have acquired the same status as Black Mesa… When it’s done :smiley:
But yes… They look very much like “some hot shit” we need. And they will fit in beautifully with this mod

go away stides

Why do you think everyone is stides… this guy joined in march… -_-

well…see, this mod is taking forever, and whenever a guy like stides comes along, all of these guys get a boner and think " wow,finally someone to stir up shit". So naturally when stides gets a ban …you look for alternates.

creating multiple accounts to troll is as old as the internet.

Epic derail is epic.

This thread has no much use here to be honest. If you’re really interested in talking and learning more about the other remakes, you’re better off going to their respective forums anyway.

I was just about to say how strange it is that a thread about these mods is taking place on the forum of a different mod projects instead of their own haha

Threads here tend to go off topic, as this one has already started to. So ya, currently the GD forums are the proper place to discuss anything related to OBM or GD

I was actually thinking the same thing before I posted this thread, but I figured eh why not?

Isn’t that just Hostage gamemode from CS?

no.

Counter-Strike = Hostages
Defuse = Bomb
VIP = Escort

but yes, it is similar to VIP, which is why i used the term “VIP”

There was a VIP mode in Team Fortress Classic. Basically, three teams, one is all snipers, another is heavies, medics, and soldiers. The kicker is, the third team can only have 1 member, who has 100 health and no armor, and only a melee weapon. The snipers need to kill him, everyone else needs to defend him.

(I may be slightly off about the class balance, haven’t played it in years)

That might explain the “Saxton Hale” mod for TF2 where 1 person plays as saxton hale, who has a shitload of health but no weapons, and is against everyone else.

I’m sorry, if this was posted elsewhere.

That is good news.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
