H.E.V. HUD Initializing sequence

Since I have an HEV Suit fetish, of course I like the idea!

I wonder if Gordon’s eyeglasses need some firmware upgrade for that, though … heh.

I’ve seen it posted a couple of times before.

Fair doskies. Apologies Skaevola.

Who cares who made it first. I just want it in-game
Edit:
Mr. Raminator, you are visiting this thread and you are Lead Developer (I see…), what do you think about this idea? Can we expect this in-game  ? Or it’s secret to release day…
Edit2:

O hai bro

He’s lead level designer.
So I guess it’s not exactly his field.

I don’t think I’ve ever made this many edits to one post.

Sorry, I saw this under his nick of forums xD, by the way, he still have contact with cman2k as part of developers team… and my idea is design, not level design, but…

Agreed. Excellent suggestion. What say the devs?

No HEV OS found…insert bootable disk to continue…

xD nice

It would be great if the HUD showed these images briefly before showing completely.

Why? It’s not an Internet connection.

HEV searching for updates…

Contacting Microsoft Servers…

“Oh shit! Let me out, let me out, let me out, let me out!!!”

I think the HEV suit should have a steam update icon.

And of course, having the Suit voiced over by Catz would be the perfect icing on the cake!

That said and after reading some of the messages here, it makes me wonder why donning the Mark 5 triggers the Valve Sound of all possible sound effects … lends intself to all kind of wacky ideas & jokes

btw, about this, yes, I know we can’t suggets easter eggs, but console command, or better, secret button near HEV capsule which causing message like above will be funny xD of course with restart and then suit could work properly

You do realise that was just music put in to set the mood? It’s not like the HEV suit has a built in mp3 player to put awesome songs on when Gordon enters a huge fight with a hunter chopper or some striders.

Srsly? :frowning: or you mean it may be added, but not certainly.

I would have thought that ‘no’ was clear enough. Obviously not.

This really is a great suggestion. It would be pretty easy to implement too, since all of those parameters for showing and hiding parts of the HUD already exist.

I’m sure Valve would have done something similar given the opportunity. Especially with the retrospect of how huge the Half-Life series has become, that first moment of Gordon putting on his HEV isn’t something that should go understated. It was cool in Half-Life and I think the implementation of this suggestion would do it a lot of justice, and give it that extra little bit of holy shit this is awesome!!!

I LOLed aloud XD

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
