Guilty Gaming

Most people who don’t like seem to complain about the lack of brown, gritty, semi-realistic one man army crap

Oh god I opened up a new page, so much pressure.

I still have two copies of that game but haven’t played it. Bought it for co-op but it lags like hell even over a LAN, it also likes to crash for no reason pretty much all the time. Also bought two copies of Saints Row 2 on the same day, which has exactly the same issues as Mercenaries 2.

Sad though, Saints Row 2 was one of the worst games I’ve ever played so it doesn’t bother me that it barely works, Mercenaries 2 on the other hand seems to be pretty good fun.

No, I loved the art style, what pissed me off about the game is they don’t follow through with their own ideas and it becomes a crappy shooter too much. Take out all the guns and fighting I say, all I want to do is avoid combat but they force you to fight too many times.

Okay, then how is it that people get the achievement for not killing anyone? I’ve played through Mirror’s Edge quite a few times, and the only time I accidentally killed someone is when I reflex kicked a guy who jumped in front of me and I watched him fly off the scaffolding. Hilarious to watch honestly.

The fighting was appropriate at times and fun, but I do agree with you with the guns, they weren’t needed.

you can’t fucking do parkour in linear indoor corridors. thats what bugged me the most.

That’s just how it is for me too!

quake 4. I don’t know why but for some reason I alway end up reinstalling and playing this game once a year.

Is Mirror’s Edge really that disliked? Sure, it didn’t get the best reviews, but I don’t know anyone who actually hated it. IMO it’s a very good game.

EDIT: apparently I missed a page here

i loved it

cant wait for the second

For me my guilty gaming is as follows
Warcraft 2
Warcraft 3
Portal
Mirror’s Edge
Legend of Dragoon for the PS1
All Twisted Metals
Sonic Heroes
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
Heroes of Might and Magic 3
Used to play Runescape but handed my account off to a friend a LOOOOONG time ago back in highschool, same with Maplestory and Mabinogi, (I swear all nexon games suck) And thats just what I can think of off the top of my head. If theres anymore I’ll post. I’ll go hide in my little corner again.

Me and my friend utilized the multiplayer feature to no end.

And yes, there was a multiplayer feature. It consisted of “Haha, beat my time on this course bitch!” “Yeah? I’m doing it right now!”

It seems to me 90% of the posters in this thread are missing the point.

Guilty gaming is enjoying games that are generally considered inappropriate for the type of gaming demographic you consider yourself in.

Like a hardcore Counter Strike player secretly playing and enjoying Farmville or Bejeweled.

Um, no we aren’t missing the point. Read the first post. It says “Name at least one game that you really enjoyed, even though nobody else seemed to. It can be as old or as new as you want.”

Oh, so everyone else but us hated Portal and Mirror’s Edge apparently.

Honestly most of the posts are boiling down to “Games I like to play.” and that’s it.

I know for a fact that most people hate RuneScape. And almost everyone I know hates Mirror’s edge and didnt like portal (too hard they say >.>)

Star Wars Force Commander (hides face in shame) God-awfull camera controls and interface, but I just loved looking for those missing 'droids lol.

Moar like too stupid to grasp all 3 dimensions at any given time. You can tell them I said that.

Twisted Metal 4 got bad reviews!? That was like my favorite game for the longest time on the ps1! I lost it years ago, but I still remember all of the cheat codes. Man, these reviewers were harsh in '99!

The Katamari Series… I was literally just playing Beautiful Katamari.
