will there be dismemberment like in the original Half-Life? IMHO undamaged bodies flying away dozens of meters after direct rocket hit looked dumb in HL2 :frowning:

Speaking of which, since the sprint mode is being taken out (and presumably the reserve energy tank), how long does Gordon have in water before he starts losing health?

I’d imagine that he can hold his breath as long as he could in Half-life…

I don’t remember hearing anything about the sprint mode being taken out. In fact I’m pretty sure a dev mentioned it being added.

I think what he meant is that the AUX power, which used to be tied to sprinting, is being taken out; the devs have said that you can sprint forever (haven’t they?) I think what he’s asking is, ‘How will they handle holding breath without AUX power?’

If it hasnt already been looked into, i noticed in parts of the trailer the concrete flooring is the canon hl2 concrete you see in places like Eli’s lab and Kleiner’s lab. in the original they had blue-ish tiles and the sort.

If you’re referring to the Teaser Trailer, then that’s from about three years ago and everything in it is liable to change. If you’re talking about the Main Trailer, then it’s from over a year ago and everything in it is liable to change. If they do not change it, then it is probably a texture from the SDK that they are legally allowed to use.

I am not sure, whether I suggested this before, so:

I want that dead scientists, guards and soldiers (who are already DOA) have a second body skin texture with blood wounds on it.

I think this has been asked for like 5 times, but there is a separate skin for post-disaster scientists, and we can project blood decals on to their ragdolls for ones who are already dead.

I believe they are using the squad based system seen in HL2, although this time around they will STAY where you tell them to go with the C key.
