As far as I’m aware, though, that was just a random voice file. It wasn’t triggered by you taking a long time, because it’s played when I run to the test chamber as quickly as I can.
Release soon
In b4 flame.
You may like receiving unfinished and unplayable products but I prefer them to be done when I get them…you know like ready to play.
Virginity just got virginated by the Virginator.
On Topic: I just thought of something. I always found it odd that many of the vents leaded exactly where you needed them to go, and no-where else. You guys should make the vents branch out more, but have them blocked by an unbreakable grate (like that vent in cs_assault). Also, maybe have some of them lead to extra rooms where you can find weapons or ammo, or simply just witness a scripted event or battle for your amusement.
There is a Black Mesa Four!? OMG WTF!! :what:
I just crawled through twelve dumbass vents and not one of them branched off. This sucks!
Whaaaaaat?
EDIT: Oh.
I also found it weird how there’s a crowbar just lying around right in Gordon’s path. Can we make it that you have to beat a Security Guard to death in order to get it?
Repeat after me: Half Life is a linear game.
I think it should be locked in a drawer and you have to go to the entrance of Black Mesa to get the key and go back to get it.
Yes, it is a linear game. But they are trying to make it seem less linear by adding doors and inaccessible rooms, they can do the same with vents.
Well, I just thought that vents seemed less obvious, like they might not have thought about doing that with the vents too.
Ah, but they already did this in the original Half-Life. At least in “We’ve Got Hostiles!,” they did. AND THAT was the most frustrating part of the game for me. More or less
Making choices makes people unhappy. You’ll take left turn and then you start to think: “what if I should go right?”. This is why linear games are so cool :retard:.
I was very disappointed by the Gluon gun presentation in HL1.
I mean, it is the most advanced and most powerful and most secret weapon in HL1 and it is simply lying on a table in that firing range. In my opinion, it should be behind bulletproff glass and released by the weapon research scientist by typing in a code into a panel.
Then he should pick it up and give it to the player (the player takes it out of his hands).
OK, I know…that’s only how I would like to see that scene…but it would be cool
I also have a suggestion for the scene, when you meet the wounded scientist in the silo complex, who tries to tell you to launch the rocket engine before he dies. Maybe you could make him spit out blood, if you reaches him. Would be a great effect and make the scene more epic.
Good point, but I found the way the Gluon Gun was presented to be perfectly fine. I mean, AFTER ALL! we were in the Lambda Core, home of kick-ass proto-type weapons.
Seems a bit out of place for a scientist to calmly give you a weapon during the apocalypse.
During an apocalypse, I’d give weaponry to anyone I thought could hold back the demons of Hell.
AKA feral aliens from Xen.
