Alright then… then why did Brother Shrike say that “Everyone loves her nose” If the ram was a guy. Then the correct way to say it would be “Everyone loves his nose”. I forgive you Brother Shrike
yeah, Soup, you’d be wrong on the statement that “Hubicorn Doesn’t mod” Matter of fact he was filtering the sludge that poured from my keyboard when the skeptic troll had a “what if BMS isn’t real?” thread and flames were ordered on that thread. As for the caps issue, ya know what fuck it.
Also, I have nothing BUT contempt for you too.
It’s a joke. Someone thought that Raminator was Summer Glau and said “She has a pretty nose.” Now everyone says that.
I don’t know if this had been mentioned, or if it even matters at this point, but you are crazy if you think I’m skimming 100 pages of nonsense before posting this.
Ok, it specifically talks about this image:
In the picture of how it looked in HL1, it appears to be a sheer cliff face with a total drop off, really helping to add to the effect of being way high up as you crawl out of the pipe.
The new picture, however, seems to very clearly show the ledge you will be crawling out onto and that it’s very big and safe. I feel like this throws off the moment a bit, am I the only one who feels this way?
He doesn’t mod often was my point, which is fair enough. He has more awesome things to do, like be Hubicorn. And it was a joke anyway. Way to ruin it and suck.
With the ledge in view, it’s easier to appreciate the view and not worry about falling into the Colorado River.
Plus in the HL1 picture, he’s looking higher up so the ledge isn’t in view.
I tend to agree with Dino Thrasher, actually. The ledge does sort of throw off the effect that the scene had in the original (not that I’m complaining overly much…It is a nice view after all. ). Not that I’m expecting it to be a big enough issue to merit any sort of change, but it could be easily rectified by just making the exit to the drainage pipe a bit higher up. You still have the ledge there, it’s just not immediately visible upon reaching the end, and thus you get that nice twinge of vertigo while looking around for a safe exit.
He’s barely looking up more, and even playing through the game I remember it being a much less obvious ledge.
I don’t remember it terribly clearly, so I shall take your word for it.
Why are we chattering over a ledge?
Because it’s arguably the most awesome ledge ever created.
Oh, and I have a video of the area uploading now. I’ll post it the second it’s up.
Update: Ok, heres the video. Ignore the music playing in the background, I had Itunes playing while I searched for the save file in that pipe. https://www.xfire.com/video/1861e2/
You can clearly see that the ledge wasn’t visible until you moved up to it. In BM, the ledge looks like it will be visible halfway back down the pipe.
country music WIN
Hm, I see your point now.
hmmm, it is a bit more breathtaking, I guess =/
Winged One tried this and look what happened.
GODDAMMIT THEY WEREN’T EVEN THAT BIG
/me grabs popcorn
True, but the game was so linear the rest of the time, it should be obvious to move ahead and see what is out there.
Also, I would imagine most of the people playing BM already beat HL, and shouldn’t need an obvious ledge to keep moving if it hinders the spectacular view.
Cliff is fine. It’ll be scary enough when we walk to the ledge to see what’s at the bottom.
Although, do we still have that triggered debris stuff to fall and give a little nudge?
