Got a Quick Suggestion? - Small suggestions that don't need their own thread

Is that actually ingame? Are we gonna see a virtual CatzEyes in BMS :stuck_out_tongue:

naw. that is just me screwing around

Your eyes are not hazel madam

too bad i would love to kill you and take your gun.

[COLOR=‘black’]you know i am kidding right?

:expressionless:

I for one prefer to protect my Coworkers. Especially the ones who use weapons.

I know I’m probably beating a dead horse here…how about a deadline of 2010?

no

Well, why not?
The mod’s taken six years. It’s faced a couple of false starts. Maps have been redone and redone.
The dev team’s worked tirelessly, I’m sure, but why is everyone content to just accept the endless shifting of goal posts? Look at this thread - it’s full of people going “Oh, wouldn’t it be cool to have X” “Yeah, X is awesome!”. X is never going to be implemented if the game’s never released. There’s even a wiki!
Remember when the mod was first proposed? Everyone expected it would take a while, but I don’t think anyone would have suggested 2008, let alone 2010. I’m sure this post will lead to me getting banned but devs: please consider pushing for a release date. It’s horrible to say but you’re now in the next decade and if you don’t set a release date, the mod will never be good enough to release - it’ll almost be ready, but let’s just tweak these things first.
The mod’s panning out just like NMRIH. I think I speak for everyone when I say I don’t want the mod to fail, but come on guys - you need to do something.

Pushing for a release date? We have no leverage to push for anything. All its going to do is piss off the few devs who actually read the forum.

It would be nice to have a(nother) release date, but the fact is every single person on this forum could boycott the mod, and they’d still get a million downloads on day 1 because all the major gaming sites have been following the mod and will publically announce it’s release. This entire forum/community is irrelevant to the success/failure of the game.

wow… erm… I think we’re all expecting a 2010 release, especially since they said they have come very close to finishing. They can’t set another deadline, imagine if they missed a second release date?

Edit: :ninja: :frowning:

We have a deadline and it is “when it is done.”

We are doing this on our spare time…people leave…people take time to get stuff done…we work on this sometimes an hour a day to 8 hours a day.

If you want to help us finish the mod any quicker then learn a tool of trade and sign up.

The project was not only designed to be free but to enhance our abilities in the game design world where we could potentially get a job. The later part essentially came true where many of the developers where able to get a job in the field.

Are you seriously still accepting applications? Because I’ve seen a few posts to the effect that artists that want to help are being stonewalled.

Well of course I know that. But if people started saying “Hey, will this be released?” rather than “OMG this’ll be awesome when it comes out!” then maybe the DEV’s might take a bit more notice. As is, the mods seem content enough to not even update the FAQ, which still bears the 2009 release deadline.

How many times have they said that? Honestly?

…to put it bluntly, if you suck then you suck.

Though many of those artists may not have send us an email. If you just post on these forums it is not enough, we need examples and what not so the team can decide.

lol ok

what areas are you most looking for new artists? Hammer stuff, prop modeling, animation, or what?

Pushing for a release? You want an unpolished game?

This mod would be as good if it was released in 2050.

I’ve never sent a team application, in all honesty, is it worth using my time to produce a good application? You most likely may already have the content that you need in the area of what I can do.

That makes no sense, but at the same time, it does.

I have no useful skills to contribute. Hell, I don’t even play Half Life 2 mods any more.
The sole criticism I am levelling here is that “when it’s done” might as well be “never”. You should have the integrity to either admit that it may never come out or set a deadline.
On a side note, good job getting places in industry (you guys do deserve it since the media is awesome) but beware - you here horror stories of enforced all nighters and the death of social life

I doubt many people would play it in 2050. I don’t think that many people will play it in 2015 if it comes to that.
Half Life 2 will keep a dedicated core of people, I’m sure, but the majority of the gaming public won’t stick around.

You know, I was almost getting pissed at you, but then I realised you were trolling.

Get out please.

This just raises a whole load of questions. :jizz:

I don’t have anything against you, but I think the gaming community is going to expand exponentially, so they probably would stick around. So… if it was to be released in 2015, of course people would still play it. 2050 may have been a slight exaggeration, but I’m just mentioning a point, it’s going to be released, and everyone is going to love it.

…goes to look to see what and where this is…

Edit: Fixed.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
