You could say the same thing about the beretta/glock and everything the highdef-pack changed.
As for me, I’m happy with keeping the mp5

Well originally the soldiers were armed with M4A1’s, but Valve changed it to MP5’s for some reason.
The current MP5 is the best one that the devs have made, I wouldn’t want the older ones back.
Me neither, I love the current MP5. In fact, it’s the same MP5 I said they should switch to awhile ago, and now they did. I feel special. :3
Funny thing is, most people disagreed with me about the change, and now look where we are, the have the same gun I mentioned and everyone loves it. :zip:
well no because I was thinking about basing it on how it is in HL2 you have the big gun and the small gun (the SMG1 and the AR2), and I was thinking it might be an interesting idea for black mesa. you don’t have two small pistols in HL2 you only have the usp. match and the revolver.
It was a very, very, very old debate (first time I remember it was in 2007) and @Mr. Someguy, no, most people desagreed with the old model, you weren’t the only one and that’s why they changed (or they done it regardless of us).
BTW : it’s not the same gun (BM use the MP5A3 which is an older version)
@Blackout : Even I would love to have the M4 included like the AR2 in HL2, it would be a bit redundant since it’s power isn’t much superior and share the same M203. Plus HL have more weapon to compensate, even at long range (tau cannon, gluon gun, hivehand).
because they’re re-making Half-Life, not expanding Half-Life 2
Reading the old posts, it seems most people disagreed with using the M203.
The difference is so minor, it hardly matters…
Just shut-up and let me have my moment! :[
Hell no!
:’(
:awesome:
Here’s a suggestion.
I was playing Mirror’s Edge again the other day, and there was a level where you were crawling through a vent, and when the Blues shot through the vent, there would be holes in the vent, as well as light shining through that hole, is this possible in the Source Engine?
It would be awesome if something like that could be included.
Yeah, like that, you know when you see a light gleam, and the room is dusty, you can see the dust through the light? That’s what’s in Mirrors Edge.
But that video is a very similar example.
EDIT
You can see a light gleam in that video as well when I had another look. At 2:37-2:40
Would be cool if they can find a non-scripted way to do it.
There must be some sort of material or something that allows bullets to pass through it, allowing the light to shine through, but I can only think that it can be done through a scripted sequence… Hmm, someone’s got to find out if it’s possible in another way.
It even was in Half-Life.
Well bullets can be made to pass through things. They do in CSS, DoD, L4D, etc. As far as light shining in though, I’m not sure.
Was it? I never noticed.
No, there’s not.
It was done in half-life by using brush-based lights, and I can imagine that it will also be done that way in Black Mesa, or with models.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
