- can you make a part were you’re in a air duct were you look below through a grate and there’s a security guard fighting a zombie?
2)Can you script a part were a zombie get eaten by a barnacle and it struggles?
2)Can you script a part were a zombie get eaten by a barnacle and it struggles?
Logically, after the headcrab dies and looses control of the body, the body would fall to the floor with the headcrab remaining in the barnacle.
Yeah but I meant it struggles and when it reaches the top the body just falls to the floor cause barnacles don’t like dead objects
they CAN make everything , and it’s safe to asssume that everything that was in hl1 will be in BMS , and plus
2 of course they can but it has to be in a area that it fits … , maybe first time you encounter barnacles
Exactly. I’m going to do a noclip aerial view at the beginning of each new map to see if I can find anything cool. :freeman:
I’m thinking of the time period; NT 4 would be much more “accurate” for a research facility in 1998 than, say, Windows 95/98. Plus, earlier NT’s had two columns of debug info in the bluescreen, whereas 2000+ only had a wall of text detailing the intricacies of why your computer just utterly failed and you should restart it now. :fffuuu:
The thing is, Half-Life doesn’t take place in 98, it takes place somewhere between 2000 and 2009. So an XP or Vista blue screen would be the most appropriate.
Are you kidding me? The largely untested XP was released right before 2002, and Vista came nice and buggy in time for 2007. To go with XP would exclude 1/4 of our possible time frame, and to go with Vista would exclude 3/4 of it.
Windows 2000 was smoothly released at the beginning of 2000, and it has an “Extended Support Period” until 13 July 2010 (source). That’s fucking perfect!
Oh, and NT 4.0 is unsupported as of 7 January 2005, which makes it an unlikely candidate.
I thought you said you never played hl1 and wanted it gifted from us?
i have hl1 on steam , i wanted a hl2 source based game in order to install BMS when it comes out
the blue screen should deffinetly be a win7 one
About that zombie getting eaten by a barnacle… there’s already a sequence where a Barney meets his end like that, I don’t think there should be any scripted zombie sequences as well. Only impromptu ones? :3
.
Wasn’t it a scientist? If you’re meaning the room with the cockroach-filled vending machine and one-way-doors blocking direct access to the power switch for the headcrab-nuking light fitting.
Okay, Valve’s forward-thinking and all, but I don’t think they were making a game in the future. Everything in the game had a “here and now” effect to it, unofficial Half-Life timelines be damned.
Hah, you were scared of that! I pulled out my crowbar and chased these sharks down, i punched them in the gills and grabbed them by the throat an said “Fuck you Shark”
Thats how the real Gordan Freeman would do it!:freeman:
and then they bit you, skewing your aim perpendicular to your target
Oh, speaking of that, I hope the gigantic icky-bite flinch is preserved. It was part of what made those suckers really intimidating to fight with in the water, on account they were harder to crowbar than a female assassin.
Actually, in a letter sent to Gordon confirming his new position at black mesa, the date on the letter was “May 5, 200-”. So it would have to be between the years 2000-2009. I think you could see the letter in the manual or something.
O_o err…yes. Yes I do.

.
What about the security guard in Residue Processing? He shoots a couple headcrabs and then runs down a hallway into a barnacle.
Good call, forgot about him.
yeah my idea was basically already in there many times
The BSOD from vista is the same as the one from XP, I would assume the same for 7. Anyway, it’s a moot point, they look the same unless you’re playing at a resolution greater than 2560x1600.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
