Got a Quick Suggestion? - Small suggestions that don't need their own thread

Correct me if i’m wrong but didn’t half life one have a cd player function?
Would that be possible to add to the game, except with mp3 files instead.

Oh well it’s almost no use to post here any longer

You are right

In the end, the songs will be mp3

No i meant like an ingame or console function for playing mp3’s. A bit unnessary, but i like having my own music in game. And it would add a bit to the Hl1 “feel” as at least i always played my own cd’s along with the game.

tl;dr: make folder for mp3s and play/next song/previous song console commands

I’d be extremely surprised if the devs bothered with that, but I suppose you could replace the mp3s in the game files with your own music, if you’re desperate to listen to it.

The mp3 player code that was included in the sdk was removed long ago as we did not want to bother fixing it.

Just do what everyone else does, run winamp or something equivalent in the background.

Yeah, i’m really just nitpicking.

Man, I can’t imagine listening to anything other than the mod’s soundtrack playing. It’s all part of the atmosphere that I want to soak up every ounce of.

I’m going to replace the sound files with classic Sonic tracks. Fighting the Nihilanth with the Sonic 2 boss music anyone?

Make it music from Sonic & Knuckles and I might be interested.

I said classic Sonic, so that would obviously be included.
:3

I’m a spanner :’(

I changed Inbound’s track to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSgiXGELjbc

Nice.

I though you said it was changed to the Benny Hill song?

Nah, that’s for Gonarch’s Lair.

If you wish to make a Half-Life mod from scratch,
you must first… map Anomalous Materials.

All music should be replaced with the big blue theme from F-zero.

Or that fucking love song from Top Gun. Spam that song every 5 minutes or so and bam, you have the movie.

I hate topgun. You Can’t fucking land!

You mean this?

AGGGH OH MY GOD WHY NOT JUST SHOOT ME IN THE HEAD, THAT’D BE LESS PAINFUL :aah:
