Got a Quick Suggestion? - Small suggestions that don't need their own thread

Are you kidding!? Portal is one of my favorite games! It’s just that it wasn’t in HL, so it won’t be in BM.

Fair enough, I liked Portal a great deal as well. I can understand its omission from BM’s release, but it was a nice thought. It’s hard to suggest much, the mod is already looking like a fantastic modern realization of a timeless game.

Perhaps they could change
“This should shake up those grand unification boys, hmm?” to
“This should shake up those aperture women, hmm?”
Of course, it probably won’t be done, especially this close to release, but hey, we can still suggest stuff.

The thing is, the devs are generally one step ahead of us. I’m certain in most cases they pondered about ideas we would only think of ages later…

Probably, yeah.
But they’re only human, (exept maybe the devs that frequent the forums) so they probably haven’t though of everything we’ve suggested. There have been a lot of bad ones here, too.

I’d say a few more than one step, seeing as the mod is, you know, almost done? :stuck_out_tongue:

This certainly doesn’t weigh in favour of the usefulness of this thread :stuck_out_tongue:
I can’t deny the fact some suggestions may have proven themselves and I wouldn’t vote for stopping the input.

I didn’t mean it this way and you know it! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, over the (what has it been, 5?) iterations of the thread, there have been a truckload of good suggestions, but many more bad ones… :frowning:

and many many incoherent ones.

has anyone ever been as far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Yeah, like that!

One of the best things I’ve ever seen on the internet ever was a post here back in, like, 2006 – the basic idea was that the guy was saying they should make models more unique by giving them top hats. But it was so horribly, incoherently, English-butcheringly phrased that it had me rolling for days. Even Raminator replied to it, and that was back when his posts were more cryptic and harder to find and less full of awesome.

Well, I didn’t want to go too in-depth with this to avoid spoilers, but the platforms are an important part of this section, as I mentioned. I chose to texture those models the way they currently are because I wanted the players to notice and pay attention to them…they’re meant to stand out.

I chose not to place railings on them because they fold inwards and a fixed railing would collide with the missile (if you want to learn more about how the silo mechanisms like the platforms and missile lift work, look up Titan I silo diagrams)

I smell an epic scripted sequence coming our way…

Okay, thanks for the info

I saw this video and ask myself: Does it really make sense that a vending machines shoots that way? IN HL1 it was handled more realistic.

Also I want to suggest, that cans should roll over than just falling to the ground and just lying there. Especially, if you destroy a vending machine and it pushes all cans out, it would be more impressive, if the cans would roll over the floor into different directions.

That’s a work in progress - and an old one at that…

I guess this has been taken care of.

Fix’d

Would you rather they stay in the little catch tray while the player presses the button over and over until the machine jams like it would in real life?

OMG! HE LIVES!

holy shit, it’s Kester!

I don’t think the vending machines fire the cans out with as much force now…either way, it’s a workaround so the cans don’t get stuck in the tray, like mentioned above.
