Realistic blood loss? DO WANT.
Hey guys, could you add in a cinematic title screen like in HL2, it’s Episodes and Portal? Kthanx bibi.
On seriousness - Don’t change the death animation, keep it the same as all the other Half-Life games. Hey, this idea has been implemented already! Woohoo! Time saved.
(However, I did like dying in UT3, 1st person view of the player collapsing and seeing body, but that is the opposite of what HL is like [Seeing player’s body] so no)
Seeing the body?? Gordon’s body??? Blasphemer!
Anyways, sounds like they have something implemented already, and considering the other creative licenses the team has taken, I trust what they’ve got is indeed “cool”.
The HECU should be like this.
The blue guys are Barneys.
Only depend on the speed of rotation and how many visual clues for guidance. If you get enought desoriented, even you or a programmer will get motionsick. That’s what happened with the jet-ski in HL2 and because it was removed : Adrian gets
Thanks Mont_Blanc, I was being somewhat facetious with that statement .
My pleasure
No, when orginally designing the air-boat the camera was locked with its motion. Every single bump and jolt created a very disoreienting view which actually made people sick.
The solution was to have the camera still and the boat move around it, creating an exciting but pleasant ride.
I asked this before in the Got A Question Thread. My hopes and dreams were crushed by Raminator.
I’m actually really cool with the decals method. Depending on where the model goes down (or is tossed against) the seepage animation could just look completely wrong.
I’m sure there are more technical reasons for not implementing it as well.
:’(
I really wish I knew what that emote meant.
“cry”
Raminator won’t stop until everyone’s hopes and dreams are crushed
Aw hey now, remember, this is the internet. As with every good thing, the people in the know want to make sure that no surprises are spoiled.
I’ll just wait quietly until Ram quashes this assumption.
Any chance that the friendly A.I. component of Half-Life 2 where they will pick up weapons (or even pick up a superior weapon) is going to be retained for Black Mesa? Mostly applying this to Sec. Guards, but even perhaps scientists as well? In which case it would be hilarious to see a scientist attempting with little success to figure out how to use x weapon.
I think they are just stuck with their Glocks. And no scientist Rambo’s. I read it somewhere before.
I remember there being a whole thread discussing whether the SG’s should be able to pick up other weapons. I know they would not start out with any weapons other than the glock, but whether or not they were going to be able to pick up weopons I don’t remember.
The guards will be able to pick up (and use ) MP5s and Shotguns.
It would be great to see scientists using weapons, but just occasionally, or it will ruins all the fun. Maybe can you make a scripted scene in which you can see a scientist pick up a weapon, use it and then go hysteric (laughs?). I loved to see Dr. Kleiner with a shotgun in the end of HL2, imagine how great it could be.
It was also stated several times, that no scientist will use a weapon, even in scripted scenes. The only sci wielding a weapon will be the one at the end of Lamda Core (which is not Kleiner, by the way)
Steppenwolf has the goods. Guards use the same code as the HL2 rebels to pick up bigger guns they come across, and scis won’t be using guns.
