If you look at 3d art, you can see some beautifull renders that might have taken over a day to render. Now, this mod is supposed to render atleast 60 frames per second, and keep up with scrpting. So for making the top notch quality seen on that image, the game would run very slow.
No, it means that particular image was rendered on an offline renderer using quality settings comparable to those of Pixar movies and is not representative of the in-game quality.
In-game quality at its max setting will be pretty similar to L4D2.

Someone will correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the Source engine itself has limits to how big of a texture it can handle. That model might use 2x2048 textures, whereas in-engine it could be reduced to half or a quarter of that size. Also the lighting, shadows, and anti-aliasing in the image are much higher quality than Source is capable of producing.
You could probably use that model in-game without reducing anything and it still wouldn’t look as good as that render when it comes to lighting, shadows and anti-aliasing.

in most games the gibbing consists of one meatloaf and two salamis.
but if you imagine the human body going to pieces that is waaay too little.
or the blood decals should be more like “flesh paste”
yeh, i know it sounds bloody, but you could implement parental lock if you havent allready.
