Gordon Freeman in Scribblenauts

I’m sure alot of gamers here who followed E3 a bit heard about a game called Scribblenauts, where the player can type nearly any word into the DS and be able to use it in the game.

Well, watching an interview with the developers, I noticed they used a veeeeery familiar word as a weapon.

Wait until around 1:23 in the video to see its greatness

Could we expect more half-life references? Headcrab, perhaps? Or Combine? I know they’re kinda copyrighted, but I think Valve is a cool enough company to allow this if the developers planned this.

The character is using a common household tool for a weapon, so it obviously must be a half-life reference.

Whats this…hold on, word has just come in that players in Modern Warfare 2 will be able to use MP5’s and other real-world military weapons, which is an obivious reference to Half-Life.

Yes, of all the things to spawn, in a video game, they picked a crowbar. Not to mention that the main character is wearing an orange suit and black rimmed glasses at that time too.

You’re absolutely right. Obviously not a reference to Half-Life.

Did you see the character? Beard, Glasses, Yellow Suit with Orange overtones…

Can’t a man dream?

I always am

The only game that I know of that references gordAn is Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.

Master Chef, you are retarded.

That is all.

Don’t mess with Master Chef. He is the EPIC FAIL GUY. He will ruin this thread. Oh noes! :fffuuu::fffuuu::fffuuu::fffuuu::fffuuu:

He already did. Like he does with every threads he posts in.

I don’t think it is a reference to Half-Life. You can summon watermelons too, so I just think it is a side effect of how many choices are offered.

If you could summon the gravity gun, that would be an entirely different story.

It could be a reference to Half-Life, but if it is, it’s not an obvious one.

We already have a scribblenauts thread…

you all seem to forgetting me

I would LOL if you could spawn an H.E.V suit or a headcrabXD

Dude, it’s actually Black Mesa DS what they are making. With 9001% moar crowbars.

Mmmm… Craowbars…:rabies:

I’m gonna get that, then write Arnold Schwarzanagger. See how it handles that!

I’m gonna write Chuck Norris.

Instant 9001% completion.

I’d hope if you’d type Chuck Norris it would just go black screen and say some shit like:
“Error… To… Much… Awesomeness…”

Who needs a Crow Bar when you can spawn a Raven Saloon?

Well, he said that proper names, copyrighted names, and vulgar words will not work…

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
