Another good way to achieve this effect is to have a stuffed toy in the middle of the ruin, but since this is a high-up birds view shot, a stuffed toy would barely be noticeable, thus they opted for bodies.
What ever made it possible for radiation to actually make a lizard massive instead of just killing it also changed the way trains crash.
It also makes it so that when a giant creature steps on a train that it will flatten the train without leaving a footprint.
Godzilla stepped on the train out of frame. The train stuck to his foot so he shook it off, sending the train flying. Problem of the lack of footprint and the thrown bodies solved. 
Passenger cars are 60’-65’ long. The crush of the car shows the flattening to only be 40’. That’s not big enough for Godz’s foot so, it must be his big toe and if it’s his big toe then the train wouldn’t stick because it’s not arched enough.
Guys stop making this movie suck before it even gets released.

If it’s going to be 100 minutes of humans explaining why they the King of Monsters and a mere 20 minutes of brutal rampage, this film will be disappointing.
The problem here is, they tried this with the first one just introducing Godzilla doesn’t work. The best Godzilla is Godzilla fighting another giant ass monster. They should have like another giant monster as a surprise in this movie and I bet it could be great.
Pretty sure there we a second monster (or corpse of) in the initial comic-con trailer. I think people were even speculating it was Anguirus
