Give the brains some brawn! (Scientist trick)

To save myself, some typing, here’s my post from Facepunch:

Hope you guys have fun with this!

Aha! Great find!

Now I can create my own personal army and have serious battles with the HECU.

Wow, they just left that in? That’s pretty nifty.

I will do this so much

They better keep this in, it makes the game so much more fun when you “find” a bunch of heavily armed scientists…
it’s not Gordon is the only one who uses the Hazard Course…

makes the Questionable Ethics ambush much more fun

Actually, I wouldn’t mind of scientists and guards started picking up weapons off the ground like I suggested elsewhere. If the AI for them to use those guns is still there, I’d love to see it. I get that they’re supposed to be meek and helpless, but hey - Gordon basically inspired open rebellion against the Combine, and he never opened his mouth. Surely he can inspire Dr. Kleiner to pick up a shotgun and protect himself

Honestly, it might make some of the jock humour much more tolerable if the scientists aren’t such panzies.

I’m so going to try this. It makes sense that this works when you think about it, since they’re essentially slightly modified HL2 citizens.

Giving them the Hivehand leads to a terrible case of Alien Crotch.

But wait!

Maybe we can reason with them! :retard: :bulb:

I wonder what happens if you give all them all weapons in Anomalous Materials, then Impulse 101 and start attacking them. :3

He then proceeded to grab a crowbar and beat the aliens to death, yelling “Will you listen to reason NOW?!? How about NOW?!?”

you could use npc_create_equipment weapon_(weapon name) this arms all npcs that can hold weapons with said weapon.

what happens if you give them the gluon gun?(if ite possible)

theres no real worldmodel for it…

There is, it’s just that like all of the non-standard weapons (except the crowbar!) it doesn’t quite connect to the character properly. It looks better than the hive hand - which for some reason seems to be a genitally-operated weapon for non-Gordonites - but the clipping’s more noticeable than with the gauss gun.

I can imagine modders having a lot of fun with this. =D

They better add this “feature” to the mod, cause in movies they all have a gun after a period and in real life I guess everyone want to protect themselves…

can someone find the npc names…? i cant find them(im too lazy to close bms and go into hammer)

npc_human_scientist

npc_human_security

thanks

Protip: if you type in the npc name rather than “!picker” it arms all of them. So putting “ent_fire npc_human_scientist giveweapon weapon_shotgun” into the console gives every scientist on the map a shotgun.

Hopefully this will be fixed with Deathmatch?
