Torrents Será entonces XD
Im just Wondering how many days will be until a Steam Release.
Imagine if this were the first game released through greenlight, it would be used as an example of the potential of the community… ¡Amazing!
True, sorry, I shouldnt have said every HL fan has heard of BM. More importantly, the point I was making is that the potential fanbase for BM is huge and greenlight is great for publicity/distribution. Don’t you agree?
Exactly, legalities wont keep BM off steam/greenlight, that was my entire point.
Am I not being clear in my posts? :brow:
…and to what standard to strive for.
I hope I can play an hour or two before I have to go to work at 1pm…until 9pm…otherwise I will be twitching at work, needing to sneak off and play with the crowbars (I work at a hardware store until graduate school starts). This could be problematic if I get carried away in a “Freeman Moment” and begin whacking customers with a crowbar, not saying a word because I would be having “What Would Gordon F*cking Freeman Do…? Not say a damn word and find an air duct” run through my head.
I can’t wait for friday. I’mma start the download, go out to lunch, and hope for the best.
it seems voting has actually slowed down considerably over the weekend… I guess my Prediction of it Speeding up was incorrect…
Made this for the Greenlight page, but then realized there was a 1000 character limit on posts (which apparently only ends up being 333 characters of ascii.)
So because it was too big, I ended up posting a smaller version split into two pieces instead. However, I still wanted to post the original somewhere, so what better place than the BM GL thread! :freeman:

(Not sure why the forum likes to put a line through it though.)
Woulda thought the line was intentional! Looks good with the line.
Looks great!
Hopefully this applies here.
How many votes does a game need to get selected?
It’s going to change during the first few days/weeks since we don’t know what kind of traffic to expect. Part of the drive for this system is the need for customers to help us prioritize which games they want to see made available on Steam. So the specific number of votes doesn’t matter as much as relative interest in a game compared with other games in Steam Greenlight.
We’re going to be reaching out to developers as we see their games getting traction regardless of whether they have achieved a specific number of votes or are sitting 1st or 2nd place at any given time. We are most interested in finding the games that people want, not requiring them to always hit a specific number of votes.
…
Considering Black Mesa is the number 1 voted game on there, and with the above quote from the Greenlight about page, There really shouldnt be any reason why Black Mesa would not get into Steam.
Greenlight is very new, Valve wouldnt have a clue how many people are going to use the system, so an amount of votes needed is something that should be irrelevant at this stage of Greenlight.
In any case as mentioned its the number 1 voted game on there. And every other game has slowed down on votes aswell. If this doesnt get in then nothing should IMO.
you do not need 100 % vote to get a game on pending state.
thoose who work on the greenlight have their eyes on wich games that have most votes.
so if a game have many votes
and shows that users want to have the game into steam the moderators/greenlight staff will contact the game/mod developers
and discuss the steam intregation.
the voting is to show interest
the more interest the game has the more chance the games gets on steam.
and there is already a top 20 list just go on collections
black mesa is at 1st place and slender source 2nd place
JohnDay, people from Valve have said before that a game does not need to reach 100% to get on steam. The developers at this late date are still working on the game (“adjustments”, and twelve of them according to a post in another thread) and it’s likely that when Black Mesa releases Valve will approve their game.
@Eion Kilant 739
I know this.
That post was more of a reply to those counting the votes and working out how long its going to take to get to 100%, of which it does not need, Hence the quote from the about page.
I cant believe this is happening in 4 days. Been a long 7-8 years!
I did some predictions, which some good mathematical and statistical tools, that predicted Black mesa would reach 100% at first days of december, with a posible error of 18%.
I don’t think we will have to wait until the 100% though. Those numbers might vary when new data is added
It doesn’t need 100%, but it would be stinking awesome for it to reach that.
I would expect the percentage to rise, once Black Mesa is released. I think there is just too little awereness of BM and Greenlight among the potential players.
I think it might even reach the 100% within a few days, if the devs added a “Get Black Mesa on Steam™” Button right on the front page of BM’s main menu.
Indeed, my tracker has shown no glitches since 10pm GMT on the 9th.
Its already that =) tried click the counter?
Have you guys noticed that VALVe clicked on a link to the screenshot of Black Mesa’s Greenlight page in their official video about Big Picture?
