Get Black Mesa on Steam! We can do it!

Slender: Source and other games were experiencing this problem long before Black Mesa was - https://dl.dropbox.com/u/68272416/greenlight-wierdness2.png (this only shows 2 games besides BM but most of the top 10 if not all and more were doing it).

It’s been happening at least since they changed to ‘would you buy this game’, I can’t say if it was happening before, I assume so, since these changes are really just UI related.

System doesn’t work to vote, sometimes it’s on 18%, sometimes on 33%, after last refresh with F5, back on 18% > :frowning: :meh::fffuuu::zip:

Man, I hope so

Maybe if this is the very first to be ‘greenlit’ then perhaps it’ll also help motivate Valve on HL3 …maybe

Oh, they changed the wording? Good, a lot of people seemed to be getting confused at the old wording. =P Anyway, I think it was being weird before that, although I can’t swear to that since I don’t know when they changed it.

Well, this is very weird… the page is throwing this error when not reading 33%:

Resource interpreted as Script but transferred with MIME type text/html: “https://cdn.steamcommunity.com/public/javascript/swfobject.js?v=2430774638&l=english”. /sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=94128543&searchtext=:17

And not showing this error when at 33%… not my particular expertise… anyone?

The javascript isn’t related to the problem at all.

If its any indicator I had noticed a ratio of ~1:10 (assuming 100,000 votes) of comments to votes… so assuming this is still correct the 50+% would be correct… thats a lot of assumption but I like it

What changed?

Also, mine says 19%
oh! nope, now its on 33%
great.

edit: then to 34% and now back to 19%

Would you buy this game if it were available in Steam?
Changed to
Would you play this game if it were available in Steam?

On Free to play games on Steam Greenlight.

what the fuck man. tis gay light coming out
EDIT: Looks like we’re in the 4% lead

Awesome.

Has ram or anyone else gotten back to you at all?

Even if not, it probably wouldn’t hurt to do some announcement or something anyway there are probably better ways to get the word out than just via forum, homepage, and facebook. Everyone spread the word!

I wonder what actually happens when Greenlight hits 100. It’s been said that the top games are highly likely to be selected regardless of actual vote count… It would certainly be impressive though.

It’d be great if this got on Steam. More people would be able to play it, for one thing.

Also, where on Greenlight can you check to see which games are in the lead?

It’s on the first post. I’d like to know how many votes are needed, but it’s not 100% determined. Although knowing what number of total votes there are in the 34% would be nice.

Supposedly Valve set the goal at 100,000 votes.
I can’t confirm this, but it sounds right since that would mean we got 34,000 votes.
Close to what Black Mesa got on the facebook page after a few days.

So, does that mean we may have hit the wall on the number of votes BM is going to get?

Nah, the current Black Mesa Facebook page has ~55,000.

Also I thought I read that 100% completion of the green light vote wasn’t a requirement. They would pick those that are very popular and promote them as they see fit.

The percent that’s growing the slowest is counting how long until HL3’s release :stuck_out_tongue: .

It’s nice that BM’s growing pretty quickly.

Correct. Hitting 100% is not necessarily required:

lol

some amazing photoshop skillz

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
