I ported Dave Bollinger’s Pixel Spaceships algorithm to GML and made a simple game out of it.
In a nutshell, it uses 32 bit seeds to create a 12x12 spaceship.

I took it a step further and made it work with 4 different ship shapes.

The ship formations are also randomly generated.

Music by flip

  • Z and arrow keys

  • Added edge formations to make sure you don’t hide there

  • Bosses drop powerups, which heal 2 and give you additional shot

  • You loose shot power when you’re hit

It’s a little game I made this summer. Next step is to expand the algorithm to and combine it with a sound wave analyzer to make a music game.

Here are a few other goodies I made.
A 1024x600 spread of ships, displayed x2

Then I made a couple wallpapers. Also 1024x600, but that should be very easy to adjust.

Okay

mm’kay.

Cool.

I find the concept pretty awesome

Do the same thing with Guerrilla and I will be happy.
